In real time you can clearly see his actions were natural. He took a few steps forward to run but stopped when he thought it wasn’t possible. He didn’t change his path to obstruct the ball. if a bowler going for the ball is in the path of the runner that’s acceptable, but why is a batsman going for the run or crease expected to make way for the fielder if he isn’t changing the path to obstruct? Agree that slomo is not the clincher here, but in real time, he moved left to cover the ball and he knew where the ball was.
