AKane
Hangargekar types have been put on ice by CSK/Dhoni..... this is team for "experienced" players and newbies have to wait. Read this and you get a notion of what is in the mind of CSK/Dhoni. "One of the founding principles of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is its backing of experience over youth in the playing XI." https://sportstar.thehindu.com/cricket/ipl/ipl-news/ipl-2024-chennai-super-kings-best-team-youngsters-talent-hangargekar-mukesh-choudhary-less-gametime-ms-dhoni-nets/article68023054.ece Basically they want some good net bowlers...... maniac, express bowling, Mosher and 1 other
express bowling
It was a high scoring match yesterday and the RR was 14.35 in the first innings. 4 pacers gave away even more than this Unadkat 18.5 runs per over Topley 17.0 rpo Vyshak 16.0 Bhuvi 15.0 But these medium pacers are either sure-shot starters or preferred replacements while Umran amd Akshdeep are dropped after just 1 or 2 expensive overs. Why ???? Most of these sure-shot pick medium pacers don't look that skilful or accurate even. He hasn't bowled well so far, criticism is valid. He should bowl better and plan his deliveries, simply banging the ball against free flowing strikers isn't going to help. express bowling

I don’t rate bowlers who don’t have plan B and have extremely poor fitness. Bowling 140 clicks only gets someone so many lifelines. Never rated Saini, Aaron for the same reason and always backed Ishant, Shami, Umesh as noticed their skill and additional talent that the others lacked. They might have been mediocre occasionally or had bad days but they are bonafide match winners and context of Indian pace history, Indian ATG’s. Thats the kind I back. Understand and respect your opinion. Hope he improves. Although today except Boult & Avesh so far every bowler has been beltered, Narine scoring 96* generally means bowling has been poor. maniac and Mosher 1

singhvivek141
I don't understand one thing though, whenever a fast bowler bowls poorly..everyone starts to target his pace on the SM as if high pace is the reason he is erratic. Yesterday trundlers like Bhuvi & Unadkut were smashed, who won't even touch 135 properly...why don't anyone criticise them for their low pace. If low pace is equal to accuracy, shouldn't the latter 2 names be more ridiculed as they are erratic despite bowling slower ? Atleast who bowls fast put some effort, what effort does a trundler puts in his bowling, yet can't control his lines. Vickydev
These wide of off stump lines from RR have become too predictable. It's killing these bowlers who have to bowl to that field, the batsman just need to get only an edge to earn a boundary tapandrun and express bowling

Bumrah's USP is yorkers, and Tyagi too may err in line but his yorkers are most of the time accurate. express bowling, Lone Wolf and Suhaan

However 2 length balls, one was a 6 stopped by excellent fielding at the boundary by Parag and then a length ball mistimed by Venky Iyer which probably would have been a 6 if Russell mistimed it.would have ended up with 2 6’s or even 3. Anyway mixed bag over, overall decent so no hate Mosher
