Because they had co-morbidities

In the Phase III US trials data released recently 60% of participants had comorbidities. However the company had claimed 100% effectiveness against both severe disease and hospitalization.

And ? Doesn’t mean you don’t take precaution if you can. Even Pfizer is not quoting 100% efficacy.

Sweetie, efficacy is an entirely different end point.

Ok chacha. You are right. Can you share the data and source for 100% effectiveness

In the post above, I am talking about hospitalization. Astra Zeneca trials showed 100% protection against hospitalization.

Now when the vaccine is actually rolled out to the public, there certainly will be a few cases of hospitalizations. But when there are 5 hospitalizations in a group of 37 people who test positive, that is not a good sign.

Getting covid after vaccination is not a big deal, but the concern is cases of hospitalisation and serious illness which the vaccine is supposed to prevent. Definitely something to keep track. There are already high profile cases in Kerala and TN who are hospitalised after 2 doses

95% efficacy if end-point is positive test.

100% efficacy if end-point is hospitalization.

There are so many variables.  When did they get the 2 doses?  When were they exposed to Covid?

This is a key point that many people miss:  after getting 2 doses, it takes 2 - 3 weeks for your body to fully develop an immune response and immune memory.

One of my friends was going to travel from India to US 2 days after getting his 2nd dose.  I nagged him into waiting for 3 weeks following it.  Finally, he ended up waiting 2 weeks.
