We then had a fall before the 2nd wave, which is common for all pandemic including the Spanish flu. The virus attacks in waves. Literally every expert knew the second wave was coming. The reason that 2nd wave was deadlier was due to the delta variant, which is spreading even in places like Sydney now. FYI, our vaccination was open to 60+ only on march , but the 2nd wave started around Feb end. There is absolutely no evidence that vaccines caused the second wave. Sad thing is all this can be understood if you can just read and consume facts instead of 'critical thinking". There have been disagreements and arguments about the supply, the pace of vaccination and the need for transparent data but we are together in the fact that the VACCINES WORK. Antivaxxers in the middle of a freaking pandemic are a curse to the society. Science encourages arguments based on facts. Question all you want about the vaccine efficacy and the sideeffects, there are actually data to support your argument. I completely understand the reluctance , even I was after the bloodclot issues were identified in AZ. As I said, questioning the sideeffects and efficacy is okay, but spreading rumours that the vaccine is the CAUSE of the disease is just fear mongering. We are privileged to have access to internet and facts. Many people in our country don't. It should be our responsibility to explain the facts to them and get rid of their reluctance. maniac Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 (edited) I got vaccinated fully in April (Pfizer) and over the last week felt sick and had all the covid symptoms (mild). Test came back negative However another personal experience, my mom got diagnosed with covid couple of months back during the absolute peak (can’t keep a track was it 2nd or 3rd wave) a few weeks after her first vaccine shot. She had very mild flu symptoms and recovered in a couple of weeks. She is 70+ So while I don’t think vaccine is a full proof protection, it clearly seems to have a lot of benefits.
