Regardless of WC or WTC, the key to a finale is about how you handle the pressure and execute your skills. One could keep arguing that a 3 match series will not suffice it should be 5 matches, and another could say SENA conditions are not suitable for Asian teams so it should be played as home and away tests in a 4 test format. Another argument will be that why only Top 2 teams should play, let the Top 4 teams play as a Play-off in IPL style and it can go on....

 

End of the day, with whatever has been known as the WTC format for the last few years the Teams should be prepared and give it their all and not undermine the WTC NZ's performance. That is just sore loser mentality. Also, NZ are right now No.1 in Test Rankings as well....

They need to beat India or Australia Way to prove that they are true number 1. Phony number 1 will get exposed very soon.

India hasn't beaten England NZ or South Africa away for a long time...  So no they are also not truly no 1.  All teams are flawed but India choked when it mattered the most.  Full credit to Kiwis.

When have n.z won in India, Australia or south africa? When in England apart from the recent one?

But not the time or place for this opinion, just concede defeat and congratulate a fantastic NZ team...the rules were the same for everyone and we lost.

I think one of Test is correct for final.

 

But what the ICC can do is give the 2 finalists 2 test matches before the final against teams like Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland in the conditions the final is going to take place, i.e 2 match series 2 weeks before final.

 

Final should be 1 match.

what a whinger. tests have enough time for ebb and flow. Look at Ind-Oz matches, where the matches swung like a pendulum. Ind got comprehensively outplayed, mostly due to our super-weak batting. having three tests would have meant that jamieson would have finished with 20 wkts and we would have lost 3-0.

How would it have looked Williamson saying same thing had he lost the final in SL,UAE,BD or India?
