Real McCoy Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 (edited) Pujara is not an Indian ATG. Even Kohli falls short in tests but can make it. Pujara and Rahane being next best batsmen to Kohli is a poor batting lineup. Sachin, Dravid, VVS, Ganguly, Sunny, Vishy, Sehwag are true greats. To mention Pujara as an ATG is an insult to these players. Edited June 25, 2021 by Real McCoy raki05 and Vijy 2

How beautiful geez things are unraveling for you quickly. I didn't expect an emotional post from you as you are usually zen, pardon the pun. but here calling me a dravid fanboy is just I'm not trying to put down Pujara. He has been good in that Aus series in 18-19. But facts are facts. He hasn't been scoring much the past 2 years. Looks like you are hurt. Sorry Vijy, raki05 and kohli 2 1

Sorry Buddy, he was good in Aus in 2020/1 as well hitting 3 50s in 4 innings at SCG and Gabba He may not have been consistent of late but he has stepped up on tough tours in SENA It is one thing to say that Pujara is not going well recently and other to say he is not great (that is where I am making the clarification) Edited June 25, 2021 by zen

So if these two years are to be written off, the same thing should happen to the 18-19 tour. You can't leave the bad and take only the good. That's not how life works. When he retires, he will be remembered as a good batsmen who did well in 18-19 Aus tour like how Vengsarkar is remembered for his Eng tour in 86. That's all. He's also 33. One thing he can do is volunteer to open as I don't think Gill is an opener. Cricspin 1

More than the current crop. Kohli has put the emphasis on fast bowlers. That's his best part of the legacy the worst being poor batting.

Vijy Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 pujara is done. we should be grateful for his SC performances at his peak, the 2018-19 tour of Oz, and to a lesser extent the 2020-21 tour. It's time to move beyond him because Anderson will skewer him. Frustrated 1
zen Posted September 7, 2021 Author Posted September 7, 2021 Rahane has only managed to add 1 50+ score in 4 tests in Eng so far. Many who supported him on this thread are asking him to be dropped for the 5th test

poyzzplaidwell Posted September 7, 2021 Posted September 7, 2021 Drop him and send him back to Ranji. If he can rediscover form, bring him back. Else time to move on. Vihari is the ideal candidate. And he can bowl too so that very handy in overseas tests. nevada 1

You can't win anything by scoring 66 or 76 like they did in Ahmedabad 2006. When they batted well, India also did well. They also most struggled overseas with the bat. Not able to chase 120.
