Beat us by 245 runs in 2000  in Sharjah, 54 all out :((! We had 5 left handers in our top 6 vs Murali. Dada, Yuvraj, Kambli, Badani, Robin Singh with Sunil Joshi at 8.

The strange thing about that rivalry was one team would win 5-6 matches consecutively, then the other team would dominate. SL had the upper hand though.

Yes. 96-2001 Srilanka had a very impressive team. Jayasuriya seemed to save his best against us always. The team that lost in Sharjah was very young and had not faced anyone like Murali before.  India after that caught up with players like Sehwag , Yuvraj, Zaheer, Harbhajan settling in alongside Tendulkar , Ganguly ,Dravid etc .

The 2000s were keenly contested between the two sides with India edging it slightly. 2010s have been very one sided. What Jayasuriya did against us, Kohli and Rohit have returned the favour with interest.

Fugging Manjrekar starts to hype him the moment he crosses 120s and he gets out. He was good for at least couple more 200s in my book.

in fact WC match vs Pak the 200 was there for the taking. He played a Misbah type scoop against Hassan Ali who was ripe for the taking  :((

Rematch those games again. Jayasuriya always was poor vs srinath who was our best bowler. Underrated.

Whenever srinarh played, Jayasuriya never excelled.
