Lol do you remember Australian series ? Mayank was terrible. He has lot of technical issues currently at any other you can make a case but not now not on Mayank current form.

Yup, don't agree with Mayank's selection at all, in these conditions and that too at #3. At best, he can come in at 5 or 6 like he did in Australia.

Traditionally India dont change a winning combination, but that would be foolish.
 
Given that Jaddu has failed to take wickets v England, I would give Ashwin a go. I would replace Ishant with Thakur. So the batting order is strengthened.
 
Mayank for Pujara needs to be made.
 
The most important aspect is that I dont think the changes weaken the team at all even remotely, however there is the upside that it should strengthen the team.

Play Vihari instead of Pujara. But Kohli will certainly retain Pujara.
Based on the 3rd test pitch conditions, we can think about dropping Jaddu or not. This is because batting is coming easily for him and does it regularly when top and middle order fails.

Why will they change the 11 unless there are injury concerns (Ishant seemed to be struggling towards the end) or if the pitch is drier and warrants playing two spinners.

 

As bad as they have been, Pujara and Rahane have earned at least another test through their 2nd innings fightback and concerns over Kohli's leadership can be set aside for sometime, he was immense in leading from the front throughout the last day.

It was impressive how he ate up time and dragged the match to the 5th day but should have scored at-least 25 runs runs more given how long he batted. He will most likely get picked, to avoid questions being asked of Kohli's lack of runs. But it is more likely than not that he will succumb cheaply to the same old weaknesses in the next game also. Let's hope he does well in one innings at-least.

No way. Kohli has to drop himself before Pujara. He stopped the bleeding in the 2nd innings and got out to a snorter.

You have to realize in a tough overseas experience has a lot of value. I think he will come around. It will not change the way he plays, but he will score runs. Also he was trying to rotate the strike last innings more than usual. Indian team needs a batter with grit who can occupy the crease. Don’t forget he won the Gabba test along with Pant.

ideally, all of our 3-5 should be replaced, but it's not going to happen. even a lineup of vihari at 3, Shaw at 4, and Mayank/SKY at 5 would score more than this bunch of noobs.
