Assuming there would be help for pacers in Eng, the team can go with 7+4 if it plays both Vihari & SKY, both can bowl a few overs

This is where we are missing a Vijay Shankar in the MO, crying shame that he is in India when he should be owning that #5 spot against Eng and delivering 10-15 overs every innings. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if someone like him made better use of brand new ball. Easier to swing at his pace and trundlers generally rule in Eng. With the bat no way he would do worse than our trinity. 

Pandya did well with a 5 wkt haul last time. So why think beyond him?

Fitness, doesn't even bowl in T20s these days. How will he last a full test match?

We are already playing 7+4 with Jadeja playing mainly as a batter anyway
 
If anyone was 100% better than Jadeja he'd have been playing at 7.
 
Only question is Ashwin or Thakur.Ishant definitely needs to go

Jaddu has scores of 50,40,30 with the tail. Bring him up the order at 5. Drop Rahane bring Ashwin. Drop Ishant bring Thakur. These changes will bring magical results.

Horses for courses, he would have been worth a spot in the squad for these conditions. He can take Rahane's spot and and certainly score more than him and bowl as well. Also, I would have loved to see a pure swing bowler like Deepak Chahar in a game or two. 

Why not Hardik Pandya?

Thakur can replace Jadeja but then batting will become weak.

Why would you drop Jadeja who has scores of 50,40,30 in the series so far? Nobody has done this well.

Bro this weakens the batting. 

I know in reality Rahane is not doing anything special but still man can't replace him with Ashwin.

We used to do that in 2000s and 2010s because our batsmen used to bowl. I can remember our batsmen giving us breakthrough like Ganguly picking up Cook in 2007 or Viru picking up 3 wickets in Perth 2007. These current overpaid buggers do not even bowl in net sessions.. Anyone from Pujara-Rahane can be dropped ,It would be bad idea to play only 4 bowlers just coz our batsmen are inept.
