Bigg Brother Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Can't believe that hundred 100 Record by Kohli looked very easy when He was scoring century for fun against SA in 2018. Now it seems very tough. Already 32 and still 30 away. PS:- Just a discussion on Stats. Stop bringing in "That is useless record etc.."
Majestic Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Who is next after Kohli and Rohit among current active cricketers? Pujara or KL or Shikhar?

AuxiliA Posted September 4, 2021 Posted September 4, 2021 Tendulkar's longevity is insane. Many have appeared to get close but no one did. cricketfan28 1

nevada Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Wow, Rohit has more international hundreds than Gavaskar! I thought he would be at slightly over 30. 50 international hunreds seems like a reasonable target for him. Sachin's 100 hundreds record is safe. In theory, Kohli could still have a return to form but he is going to be 33 in a month or two and even 3 years @ 5 hundreds per year leaves him well short of the mark at 36 years of age. He will have to push for flat pitches at home but even there, he looks hopeless against spin.

rkt.india Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Kohli's test debut was at 21/22. Tendulkar 16. It was always going to be difficult for him to catch up to him in test cricket. In ODIs, he can still take that record but in tests he is 105 tests behind.

India played 139 (SRT 132) tests from SRT's debut to his age of 33. India would have played 108 (Kohli 97 if he plays 5th test v Eng) tests from till Kohli's age of 33. Sachin missed 7 tests, while Kohli missed 11 tests so far. Kohli has scored 7743 runs in 162 innings with 27 centuries. SRT had 8499 runs in 163 innings with 30 centuries. Vijy 1

I think Kohli if played 4-5 more years can still score 60 ODI 100s. Need 17 more. 40 test hundreds, need 13 more. It's difficult but not impossible. We need more good pitches in India. They are doing serious injustice to our batsmen by making rank turners, pitches where ball is turning from ball one.

He maybe past it or may not be. He may come back. Out of the Trimurti, Rahane is the weakest link. He is any way one innings a series player. Pujara despite not scoring big has contributed. He can still be persisted for a year before we have some A tours to test youngsters. Edited September 5, 2021 by rkt.india
