vvvslaxman Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 I was watching this today. They are referring to this match. India didn't enforce follow on under the instruction of coach Kapil. They discuss whole India was pissed off at the decision. India did bowl 141 overs. You think this was a controversial move forced by Kapil? https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-tour-of-india-1999-00-62133/india-vs-new-zealand-3rd-test-63850/full-scorecard
R!TTER Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Hard to say, what about Meiyappan & the coverup by MS & Co. Lord 1
neel roy Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 On day 5 pitch they scored 252/2 in 95 overs. Kumble bhajji bowled 50 overs and got 2 wickets. How on earth by giving follow on with tired bowlers on flat surface would have given us any results. India batted again to make sure there were more footmarks etc and gave them 100 overs to survive.. its credit nz rather than bad tactics Lord, Gollum, AuxiliA and 1 other 4

Lele was saying they would have lost a few wickets on day 4 before close of the day :)
Gollum Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Bowlers need a breather after sending down 140+ overs. Nothing suspicious. Srinath bowled 35 overs, Kumble 48, Bhajji 31...that's too much bowling for an innings. Just another failure to finish off that mediocre NZ team on day 5 pitch. We were content with 1-0 scorelines at home those years, lacked the ruthlessness of post-2010 Indian team. ShoonyaSifar and Lord 2

Then make pancakes for next two tests.. good teams would draw the two tests.. bad teams will still find a way to lose on pancakes..
ShoonyaSifar Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Jadeja was the only shady character in that team. Doubt any hanky Panky would have been possible. Sachin, Dravid, Kumble, Dada, Srinath, Bhajji - no questions whatsoever on their integrity. Still remember how excited I was to see Sachin open in the 2nd innings lol. Thought he may start opening if he scored. Lord and vvvslaxman 1 1
New guy Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 It was just the defensive mentality we had at that time, nothing to do with fixing. Fear of losing was what we always had, we very rarely went for wins
coffee_rules Posted September 9, 2021 Posted September 9, 2021 Look at how similar this scorecard is https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/india-tour-of-ireland-england-and-scotland-2007-258449/england-vs-india-3rd-test-258470/full-scorecard
