express bowling Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) https://m.timesofindia.com/sports/cricket/india-in-england/india-vs-england-once-uk-opened-for-all-ecb-did-not-opt-for-a-series-specific-bio-bubble/articleshow/86093108.cms The article above points out the numerous instances when the unmasked general public could come near our cricketers, and do so even in closed spaces. There were almost no restrictions in place. With Covid still around in England and people getting infected rather regularly, one really wonders how this kind of behaviour is being allowed. Non just our support staff, even Sangakkara's whole family had got Covid and they were supposedly roaming around in a few days. Jarvo entered the field twice. The fans watching the game could come near players. This is deeply disappointing from the ECB and the rules that are generally being followed in England with Covid still around. jf1gp_1 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Apparently BCCI wanted test to be moved forward but all the delays because ECB wanted an open window for 100s. Now the same guys who made India wait for 100s expect India to push back IPL. AuxiliA, express bowling and nevada 3

You mean re-infected ? havent they all already contracted covid before Pakistan series ?
Suhaan Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 I can't fathom the fact Jarvo was not part of the ECB script(offcourse in a lighter note) Maybe they wanted build a legacy around a character like Jarvo,im sure someday they will use him in Ashes too express bowling 1
jf1gp_1 Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Wow.. looks like the most righteous of them all i.e. Pakistanis (with keyboards and twitter account) are demanding India forfeit the game. Maybe Pak will forfeit WC t20 game against evil India, BCCI and its PM as a mark of protest and show of solidarity towards so called illegal occupation.
ShoonyaSifar Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 Of course. ECB officials were dragging Indian players to visit crowded restaurants, mingle with common people, attend crowded events (despite having their young families with them and covid cases in the camp before the sery). ECB also forced our players not to use common sense at all.

Tbf we don't know how many or if any of the English contingent got infected, did they test them just as regularly as our team/support staff & were the results ever made public?

It is a separate matter that Shastri and Kohli are buffoons. They should be called up by the BCCI too. Two separate issues. Mosher 1

zen Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 In the west, a large portion of the population is vaccinated. In UK 66% is fully vaccinated (2 doses), while 72% have taken a single dose. In India, only 12-13% of the population is fully vaccinated, while around 40% have taken their first does. Difficult to judge other countries from an Indian PoV.

Lone Wolf Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 That book signing was obviously uncalled for in the middle of the tour & Vikrant Gupta said ECB only expected a dinner meet... Not seeing hundreds if people in there.. There is no such thing as bubble in Eng as earlier touring sides like NZ also followed same protocols... It's faaking Shastri's fault.. I just hope it doesn't leads to 2-2..

Do you think BCCI medical team had no guidelines and regulations? Our coach openly mocked covid regulations. We can keep blaming the ECB and everyone else, end of the day it's upto the individuals to follow the guidelines. Here we have the leadership group itself not adhering to their own team's protocols. But one thing is very clear ... that even if an Indian cricketer tried to keep himself isolated from the general public, he wouldn't be able to. If the coach has flouted guidelines, punish him. I have always maintained that there has to be strong accountability in the Indian cricket team. But that does not mean that our national team cricketers won't get adequate protection from Covid from the host cricket board. Suhaan and Mosher 2

Their life, their concern. Anyone who goes out in crowded places does it at their own risk. If you think ECB has to be blamed for the indiscretions by our team, it's okay. We will see a repeat of similar situations in the future as well.
Suhaan Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 The blame game can continue for ages,ECB is accountable for their people ,but this is also true if they care for IPL so much(they should),they(our guys) should have taken the responsibility and could have been more mindful All i want is, no one gets an inch of evidence to point fingers at us,but alas it was careless on our part too Last i heard ECB CEO Harrison also attended the booze (book) launch
