Bumrah And Umran, bowling in tandem in the future, can be something special for Team India.

Imagine the alternative of deadly speed at one end, slow spin at the other.

Its confusing for batsmen to make adjustments so easily and quickly.

he can take the Bumrah route to the indian team, dont discount raw talent.

what value does he add as a net bowler. If they are looking for pace then i have heard multiple batsmen speak about reducing pitch length. Also not sure what pace can do in UAE. WC is no time to give someone experience unless he has impressed people so much that they are looking at him from next years world cup prospective.

good for him but as someone said he can injure a batsman like Siraj injured Mayank and Washi in England

otherwise how will you learn? you need to be able to face short ball. Injuries will happen. i agree training should be a little less intense but other teams wont be bowling hit me balls in a crucial match. Need to practice vs short ball.

first practice away from your body. then work your way towards body line bowling.

like i said. it sucks. absolutely. but you have to get hit to be prepared for the real match.

Cause cummins for example will hurt you. you think archer will bowl dollies because you played with him in IPL? hell nhaaa.

I think in training they should be warned about it before the bowler bowls the bouncer imo. That way it wont catch them off guard. Since its training, this method should be allowed.

In real life however, you wont know when the bowler will bowl a bouncer.

Correct.

There is a marked difference between speeds of around 140 which is the best Indian bowlers can hope for, then it is this kind of speed by this kid, 150+. Reaction times and adjusting to this is challenging for a lot of batsmen.

Needs to be nurtured, developed and educated to one day representing India, will be a very powerful weapon and add variety to our attack.

Our mantra should be death by speed, spin or swing. India can now get you out in multiple ways.

best ? indian* bowlers? sounds a bit condescending. Indian bowlers are the best in the world. Let that be made clear.

I have generally kept an eye on the reactions of batsmen around the world when they face Indian pacers.

And they seem to be most wary of Bumrah. In 2018 and 2019, he was hitting 150 kph regularly and Cricviz had posted that he had bowled 150 k+ on 75 occasions in tests in 2018.  Even now, he hits high 140s regularly in international matches. Plus he delivers the ball a few inches ahead of other pacers and reduces the effective distance that the ball needs to traverse to reach batsmen. Plus he has an awkward action. Plus he bowls a very heavy ball.

And frankly speaking, our test bowling unit has gone to another level after the introduction of Bumrah ..  the enforcer pacer ... in January 2018.

If we can have another quick like Umran really tormenting batsmen along with Bumrah, we will psych out our opponents even before the match begins.

He bowled 150.ot 160. Sayng this kid that kid does make you a big piss, there are around 10 Indian bowlers that have bowled 150 + its not earth shattering. He is being fast tracked because of his pace which other Indian bowlers have done before.

Thicker arm, particularly biceps amd thicker chest muscles, are actually a hindrance for fast bowlers.

Not really. Arms and chest are important aspects for fast bowlers which they usually ignore.  You need strong chest. Have you seen Mitchell Johnson. It also depends of type of bowler. Knee dominant needs to be more muscular than hip dominant.

Yeah 100%. I can vouch for that. I have a thick chest. It does inhibit me. Better to be a wiry sinewy guy.

Bumrah had a good build because he has the perfect balance.

This is true. Strong legs is more important than all however.

Great post. Thanks for replying. Really appreciate when you post on here, as you provide me and the rest of us with detailed intelligent responses.

Bumrah in 2018 was just amazing.

Bumrah, Malik and one good swing bowler for us plus our spinners and its a lethal bowling unit on any conditions.

Tyagi can be that guy. He hurts everyone even in training. Virat complained about him going hard rofl.

Rahul got wrecked by him too. Rahul is an extremely good player of short ball.

Umesh has a deadly bouncer himself.

Put it this way, if you can get out of training nets unscathed as a batsman then you have done well.

In kohlis words, if he survives vs bumrah and shamj in training then he feels confident to take on any bowler.

Its really fine art in building the right body as a fast bowler. Im sure Bumrah has been guided well here.

In Australia, Shane Watson had done too much muscular development and some believed effected him as a player.

None of the Indian bowlers have hit 150 this consistently before that too at 21 in first few games. Bumrah too wasn't 150 at 21.

Power training is required, not sarcoplasmic muscle hypertrophy but myofibrillar muscle hypertrophy.
