My guess is that coal production has gone down and went into sluggish mode during the lockdown due to the lack of need for coal. Now that things are headed towards normalcy - the logistics are not in place to cater to the demand. A case of apathy from the bureaucracy. India produces 80% of coal, 2nd largest producer, but imports (third largest importer) after China and Japan. Of much it is due China’s local produce is not known. Nothing new from AAP on expected lines. Once an arsonist always an arsonist. They have a track record esp during COVID. They kept claiming O2 shortage and when HC appointed a auditor, they claimed they have surplus and wanted to give it to other states in need. Moreover, AAP has been spreading rumors since 9th Oct and doing it regularly. There is a shortage, no doubt about it.
