Ashwin, like Jadeja, is not a wicket-taker. Both are more focused on the economy than wickets,” - Sanjay Manjrekar

Who is that wicket taking spinner?

Chahal is better than Jadeja as a LOI bowler. Even Kuldeep is.  Ashwin is.  Rahul chahar is. Jadeja bowls in middle overs (least risky time to bowl) doesn't do anything with ball. He is yet to produce a meaningful cameo in T20.

You cannot play Chahal , Chahar on this team which has no batting from its bowlers. What is 44 of 23 in Australia called???  Jadeja deserves his place in the team. he just cannot be asked to bowl 4 overs every match. He and Pandya need to share that spot. Both are live wires on the field.

The innings he played in WC semis would have reached legendary status if he had some help.Jadeja walks into this Indian team in all formats.

Have you looked at Jadeja's record in T20?  Playing since 2009. Has scored a grand total of 260 runs 25 innings (51 matches)  at 111.  He will not make any top side in the world.

Jadeja's overall stats(dating back to 2009) has no bearing on his selection. He was too good in the last 2 IPLs (played in UAE no less) to not play. Beside with Pandya not bowling and Sundar injured, he's the only decent batting AR we have.

Smashing Harshal patel in one over gave us this false belief that he will repeat at the international level. He was taking singles instead of winding up and smashing in the end overs.  He came in 13th over and left at 18th over. Did nothing.  You expect a lot from him given his bowling is average.

You started with statement that Jadeja has not played any finishing role in t20s. Jadeja and Pandya are best options for this Indian team. they would not make any other team in world in shorter formats. I don't like Pandya lack of improvement either  but do we have any other players ?

Jadeja since that has improved leaps and bounds, he needs to be used in certain role. Ashwin might walk into many other teams but he does not fit into this team.

You would want to go with a match winner in one department rather than someone who cannot win match in any department. He is too lucky to be playing for us.  Tewatia, Rana can also do the same role. Bowling a bit of overs in the middle. There is better chance of them clicking. Probably a better fit in ODI sets up. In T20 he is yet to play one innings like Yusuf pathan.

Like I said in my previous post, his IPL performance, even removing that 37r over, is too good for him to be dropped. Half of our WC squad didn't even perform in the IPL.  Jadeja is also the best fielder in the country and a test regular not some fringe player.

Anyways even if you don't have faith in him what choice have we got? With Hardik not bowling, Sundar being injured and Thakur lacking batting practice/experience, he has no viable replacements right now.

The players you mentioned are not even in same ball park as Jadeja. So this notion that they somehow will succeed in international cricket is ridiculous. When did Yusuf Pathan any  T20 innings for India.

He only had chances to play cameo. His career strike rate is 146. batted only 18 innings. Jaddu 111 strike. rate. He doesn't even come close to yusuf pathan's ball striking ability. Yusuf could singlehandedly do the impossible at his best.

You are going round and round changing stumps one end to another.Did anyone say Jadeja strikes better than Yusuf Pathan. Why are you bringing Yusuf Pathan into discussion, he is not playing anymore.
