150KPH Indian bowler? Hahahaha

This is not possible

When I was in.school, there was one guy who invariably failed in one subject or another. Often 2 of 3 subjects at a time. He had to sit for supplementary exams to get to the next class. Repeated the same class 2 times.

Once, he suddenly passed in every subject and got 80 in English.  After that, he went around mocking and abusing guys who usually got high marks throughout.

Half of Pakistan is behaving like this with 1 World Cup match win after 12 losses.   :  )

Rakesh Patel got outswing at sharp pace.

I was always surprised why he was never tried for India.

They know the reality hence milking what ever little pleasures they can. India will remain a top 3 three cricket team in all formats whereas Pak will be found in the bottom 5, both hafeez and Malik are still playing, that implies there is lack of talent and their test team will soon reach minnow level, Hassan Ali has lost form, that leaves only one test class seamer in Shaheen, the opening cupboard is empty with both butt and Abid Ali failing, with only 2 decent test batters in Babar and alarm I will not be surprised when they lose to Srilanka again who now have dannanjaya, pathun, chandimal, reassured thirimammne at three, karunaratne and two young quality spinners and 4/5 test class seamers in chameera, Kumara, asitha, lakmal Pradeep and rajitha. Pakistan will be hammered overseas and got bullied by a second string wi recently.

Some progress has been made by the selectors regarding choosing 150 kph and 145 kph pacers in their last selection meeting.

150 kph pacers ....

Umran .. In our A team for Unofficial tests

Saini .. In our A team for Unofficial tests ( but has not bowled 150 kph after early 2020 )

145 kph pacers ....

Bumrah .. Team India star

Siraj .. Selected for T20Is  ( Can bowl these speed only in white ball cricket and tests in Asia )

Prasidh .. Will probably be in the test squad

Tyagi .. Injured

Nagarkoti .. Not fit enough.

There is no other prominent pacer who can bowl these speeds as faster balls with any regularity in 2021.

Shami and Umesh have become a tad slower nowadays. Would have qualified till 2020.

P.S .. The biggest challenge is how to stop the selectors from choosing too many medium pacers in white ball cricket.

1 slower ball expert cum bowling all-rounder at No.8, is good enough.

Looked a proper fast bowler when he played in icl, a lot faster than nahra, zaheer and co. Very shami like, guys like Amit bhandari, salvi played ahead of him, we actually had a very solid bunch pacers from 2005 onwards, munaf, sreesanth, rp, vrv, Ajit etc all did decently under dravid once dhoni took over and by 2009 all lost pace.

He was one pacer who was always bowling with effort in Ranji Trophy, whenever I saw him bowl.  Had a sharp bouncer too.

The greatest problem I see

1, Once a fast bowler is unearthed they bowl fast for a season or 2 and during this time some of the teams give them exposure at highest levels India does not.

2, Unearthed fast bowlers work on themselves while finding ways to retain improve fitness and sustain high pace over few years. Indians barring in Test cricket have not done this consistently as well.

So Indian fast bowlers either toil away in inconsequential levels and wither or they reach the top level and are already a bit slower and wiser about their bodies.

Product of high return professional circuit without professional fitness and fast bowling culture to back it.

When has Pakistan produced an express bowler post 2010 in tests? Name me one that doesn't break down after one fluke innings?

Indi actually had umesh and varun steaming in for a few years bowling express.

Only nortje bowls express in modern days and he averages 142 rofl.

Starc 142.

One of the biggest reasons why most countries with fast bowling cultures try to find 140 kph to 152 kph pacers is that ... even if they lose some pace due to the rigours of international cricket, they will still be bowling an acceptable 135 kph to 145 kph/147 kph range. Steyn, Rabada and Cummins would all fall in this category.

This is what we have to go for too.

After Bumrah's body matured for fast bowling purposes in 2017, he started bowling 138 k to 148 k regularly, touching 150 k on good days. In 2021, he is a bit slower but still bowling good speeds.

Most of our other pacers start at a lower speed range, barring Umesh. And if they become slower, they become medium pace. We have been extremely lucky that Shami did not lose pace from 2013 to 2020 and kept bowling 135-145. Does not always happen.

In a nutshell, we have to start with pacers who can bowl 150 k+ with decent accuracy.

And this is one of the reasons for this thread.

Umran Malik bowling 1 full over in SMAT 2021-22 in the video below

..  Getting consistent inswing at very high pace

..  ** Just look at the 2nd ball .. an inswinging yorker which traps a set Hooda LBW

.. Bowling good enough lines

.. Goes round the wicket to left hander so that he cannot slash using the angle of the ball.

The guy is learning.
