Embarrassing crowds for a WT20 semi finals.

Cant believe this is a major pinnacle tournament of cricket or at least a format of cricket.

 

There are local school games that have more audience then this.

I don’t see it as an issue as many fans from the 3 English speaking countries in the knockouts would prefer to watch the game on TV, avoiding travel to these parts due to current hassles. 
 

Stadiums at such tournaments are now more dependent on local crowd due to the hassles discussed. If the tournament were held in Aus or Eng, you are likely to see more locals.

 

This also shows people in subcon follow a less popular sport (from the PoV of the rest of the world where not many care for cricket). 
 

For the Pak game, you could see more crowd as many Pakistanis are stationed there and the fight to UAE is not long either (BOM-DXB is approx. 3 hours so it should be similar, an hour here and there, from Pakistani airports too).

Of course, Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world. It has some widely followed super teams and superstars.

Correction. Indian fans may not have bought tickets for this game as India would have played at Dubai (irrespective of their position in the Group) if they had qualified as they were the host nation.

Cricket is not a popular sport. What's funny is so many of the associate teams are made up fully of South Asian players. What's even the point? The game isn't going to grow.

Let me put it this way most Indians might be ashamed of their heritage or move to other countries but in their minds they are satisfied  that their ethnicity is Indian rather than being suspected as a terrorist Pakistani.

An error that Indians when they compare themselves to western superpowers and China, and Pakistanis when they compare themselves to Indians make is assuming that standards including crime reporting everywhere are equal.

Obviously no contest with Soccer and also pitches etc don’t matter there  but there will be a different vibe when Football World Cup begins here next year. Most rich people in Sc know someone who knows someone and they get free passes, not sure who is buying these tickets for non-sc games or even if they are getting sold.

People say nice things about Switzerland because it is good in general on various parameters. Let others say something good about Pakistan for a change.
