KW retained as first. They were giving Rashid 2nd place. Rashid and Rahul may get banned for one year. why should they be banned? There is no cap on price in draft pick so this was always bound to happen. Players have a right to look for better opportunities. Link to comment

V Iyer and Varun C are useful in the format RR: 2 match winners in Samson & Buttler, along with the youngster Jaiswal RCB: Kohli (as batsman not captain), Maxwell, & Siraj Overall, the below could have been better: CSK: Moeen & a young Ruturaj. Dhoni & Jadeja are legacy picks. Jadeja' bowling may work at Chennai MI: Bumrah & SKY, who brings 360 degrees game, are good picks. Rohit is ok. Pollard if he is not past his best PK: Why even bother with Mayank unless he is expected to lead the team? Arshdeep not bad as he is uncapped SRH: Kane is ok. Samad and Malik are uncapped but SRH I am not sure is a good place for players with an attacking mindset Mayank was one of their best last time Link to comment

Players cant deal with other franchises before their franchise has worked out all the deal with them For eg, if new franchise didn't offer rahul 20 cr, he might have agreed to 16 cr with punjab. Draft can only come into the picture after retention list is officially announced Edited November 30, 2021 by New guy Link to comment

I'd have expected them to go with Kishan there. But MI team is very ruthless and professional - maybe they do expect SKY to keep delivering stud results. I still expect Bombay to 'match' or outbid for Hardik during the auction. Maybe even Kishan - latter might end up in Lucknow possibly, but former is just going to get market priced and return to the Bombay Fold. Link to comment

Hardik is mostly likely to be picked by Ahmedabad in drafts.Might even lead them. Even Kishan will go for high price. MI only have 48 crores with 20(?) players to buy. Link to comment

urbestfriend
I think franchises dont have to stick to the amount they pay to retained players and these things are between player and franchise to negotiate..It is just that the said amount is deducted from the total purse, thats all. SKY is a better keep than Kishan IMO with the bat (at least on current form). Yeah, there are some options for replacing Kishan, especially if you are not a believer in his batting consistency. If you think SKY can sustain his output for 2+ seasons, then its obvious to retain him. Link to comment
bowl_out
Good picks: Moeen over Faf -> Faf is 37 and will have less takers in the auction.. will surely be bought back.. Moeen would have gone for more than Faf in the auction All uncapped retentions - Arshdeep, Malik, Samad Bad/surprising picks: Russell for 16cr - They didn't even play him in the final last year and remains injured most of the time. Mayank for 14 cr - Could have easily bought him for half that price in the auction Rashid not picked - Terrible decision unless Rashid decided to back out himself Siraj instead of Harshal - I might get brickbats for this, but I think Harshal might go for a lot more than Siraj in the auctions given his purple patch this year. They could have bought Siraj back in the auction Shahrukh Khan, Kartik Tyagi and Bishnoi not retained for 4cr... Maybe SRK choose not to be retained in anticipation of a larger bid in the auctions Stokes not retained for 6-8cr (assuming he is back to playing cricket) Expected picks: Virat, Maxwell, Rohit, Kane, Pant, Samson by their respective franchises Dhoni, Jadeja, Ruturaj for CSK.. Dhoni was clearly for non-cricketing reasons - brand image, back to Chennai hype Venkatesh Iyer, Shaw, Bumrah, Narine, Chakravarthy Nortje (although he is untested in India) Edited November 30, 2021 by bowl_out Link to comment
