nevada Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 As per a report, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have raised complaints to the BCCI about the Lucknow franchise for ‘pursuing & poaching’ KL Rahul and Rashid Khan. According to an InsideSport report, Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have complained to BCCI about the new franchise Lucknow for 'pursuing & poaching' KL Rahul and Rashid Khan to leave their respective teams. "Poaching of players is not right in football and the same goes for cricket. I understand the new teams will be eager to get the best players but offering insane sums only contributes to disrespecting the existing teams. KL Rahul has been a valuable player and manipulating him to leave the team is not right," a franchise official told InsideSport.
Lord Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Bound to happen with draft system. There's no max limit on what a draft pick can be bought for. Unfair to ban players for looking for better opportunities Cricspin and nevada 1 1
cricketfan28 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Punjab is a cursed team .. no luck for them.
Sunil_narine024 Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 A team cannot force players to be retained. Nothing's gonna happen, these two are safe. Austin 3:!6 and rangeelaraja 1 1
rkt.india Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 Jadeja and Manish Pandey were banned for similar stuff.

But it has to be in a vaccum where he is taking a risk about not knowing other franchise paying him more than what the club is offering New franchises reaching out and influencing that retention decision is not allowed. Franchises are given every chance to retain players Most player will take 16 crore. Only reason rashid and rahul didn't is because they were influenced and knew exact offer You realize its unfair if franchise can offer only 16 cr and new franchise can even give 25? It is but why punish the player when there is no limit to what new teams can offer? That should have been decided beforehand. What is player supposed to do if franchise approaches him? Deny 25 crores? If anything punish franchisees for making offers before retentions are announced. New guy 1
sandeep Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I'll be surprised if either is actually banned. Maybe a heavy fine, which will probably be paid by the franchise that signs them. Jadeja's example isn't relevant because back then he wasn't a Team India headliner, or even IPL headliner. Just a promising young up and comer. BCCI or the IPL Council aren't morons. They aren't going to "ban" KLPD or the young Afghan 'nineteen' year old.

Unfair to ban players for looking for better opportunities Yeah, what's the point in not allowing unhappy players to look elsewhere. Rahul must be tired of the fragile middle order and Rashid must be tired of playing for a weakling team like SRH. The franchises are acting as if all is well with their teams and suddenly someone lured away their best player for more moolah.

Strongly disagree with the second half of the last line. Rashid is 18, not 19. New guy 1

Vancouver Posted December 2, 2021 Posted December 2, 2021 (edited) KXIP would be better off without KL Rahul and his slow cautious starts, he makes up but by that time he does lot of damage and puts pressure on batsman on other end, not a T20 cricketer. He scored a lot of runs but team kept losing and he didn't bothered to change his approach. Edited December 2, 2021 by Vancouver
