He never played In Australia? Wow. He must have been injured. Heard he was traumatised by rohit carnage vs him in asia cup. Good on him for coming back strong. He seems decent in pakistan/u.a.e. 

 

Is he the answer in Australia? Given his frail frame, pace and lack of bouncer I don't think so. Will definitely be an upgrade over abbas though.

I'm talking about Australia's tour to Pakistan next year. Still uncertain whether they go there

They are not touring..  Aus won't tour anywhere I reckon for tests unless its India or England.  I can see them turning up for lankan tour but that's about it. 

If Pak hosts it in UAE then they will come.

Starc averages 26 in first class. You have to be fast plus have a good average overall. Starc when he gets it right can rip through any team especially the tail. He will be handy in the last innings but he really struggles vs middle order. 

 

Hazelwood is their best bowler imo in Australia. Even moreso than Cummins. 

 

Outside Australia, probably Cummins but it's close. 

I think 24-25 is about right.  26 is too long a stretch..  Either way best young pacer on the planet.  Hassan reminds of Shami of 2018..  Short skiddy bowler who can reverse.  A tad slower than Shami but occasionally bowls some balls above 140k.  A handy pacer to have in Asian conditions.  Also picked a lot of wickets this year. 

Third pacer is problem for them actually.

For me their batting excites me more. Their batting imo is quality in Asia vs spin and are fairly good vs swing. Bad vs bounce and pace. But that's always been the case.

From what I have seen they have issues vs spin.  Babar is weak player of spin.  Azhar has declined.  Abid Ali is excellent even tho he is 33+.  When they tour lanka their game will be tested. 

Pace attack is their real strength as of now.  

Overall batting isn't flashy but not bad either.  Faheem down the order has played some good knocks off late.  Always like a left handed in lower order.

Definitely better than rahane pujara and kphli trio.

18 tests with so many breaks in between is not the right way to judge any player.You cannot look this good against quality fast bowling and be a bad player.

I think they wasted a lot of time with Denly..  Playing at no 3 with new Dukes is more difficult than as a opener.  England had a real struggle with openers as well. 

Malan would have scored a lot in South Africa or in WI tours.
