Trichromatic Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 Bowled out for 202 in first innings of 2nd test. This looked like 270-300 type conditions. Short by 70-100 runs.

rollingstoned Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 this was easily a 300 pitch if they had applied themselves. we just needed 2 of the 3 trimurthis in this match to make 30s - due considering law of averages - and we would have got close. Not asking for a lot.

Short by 70-100 runs.I thought it was a hard pitch to bat on because of the bounce and good bowling by Olivier, Rabada and Jansen. Unless you are patient, one cannot survive on this pitch.Sent from my CPH1819 using Tapatalk

neel roy Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 230/240 winning score here. Centurion was paradise in comparison to this. In centurion you could cut or drive. Here it is near impossible unless hard slash. Even then the variable bounce makes it hard. You saw how peterson tried to slash and got outside edge only to be dropped. The ball is rising from good length. You cant go bang bang here. Ashwins 46 and bumrahs 14 along with shami s 9 is gold dust
jusarrived Posted January 3, 2022 Posted January 3, 2022 (edited) We could have easily been bowled out for 100-120 here, so considering we are playing 2 batsmen short and Pant who seems to be out of form this is close to the best total we could have posted. I would have ideally liked another 50-60, but I think we can bowl SA out for 180-220 kind of total Edited January 3, 2022 by jusarrived

Trichromatic Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 Those 70-100 runs which team missed in first innings will hurt the team. Even in 2nd inning Pujara and Rahane were set, conditions had eased out. By the time effect of heavy roller worn off, they got out. Just scoring to save their place and not doing enough to get into strong position. Add Pant's brainfade to the list. Vihari as specialist batsman remained unbeaten. Short by 50-70 runs in 2nd inning. Jay Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Put mcgrath bumrah and Cummins together and they still csnt save this batting lineup. Most God damn awful batting lineup in our history. One game our bowlers decide to be off colour. Not over yet. They may very well come back tomorrow but we all see our batsman's true colours when our bowlers have a poor outing. This was a 285 -300 pitch in the first innings. Even second innings was even easier to bat on. Just God damn awful batting. Look at our batting rofl. Guess what? When you are a man down you get less rest. Guess what else can affect bowlers? When your batsmen get bowled out for low scores I the first innings on a relatively flat surface. Less rest which exacerbates fatigue levels. Vijy 1
Pollack Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Height is not an indicator of cricketing skills. Indian batsman are short but they have skills.
Jay Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 19 minutes ago, Pollack said: Height is not an indicator of cricketing skills. Indian batsman are short but they have skills. No they don't. Otherwise they would have posted 300 on this pitch.
Vijy Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 In the final analysis, short by 50-70 runs in both innings.
putrevus Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 I don't think batting was the reason why they lost this match. When you are barely able to take 3 wickets defending 240 then even 400 is not enough. They did not even trouble the batsmen today. They simply did not know how and where to bowl on this wicket.
Jay Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Rahul 5'11 Mayank 5'7 Pujara 5'11 Rahane 5'4? Pant 5'2 Vihari.6 foot. 2 midgets 1 shot dude 3 tallish guys. Excellent variety here. Vijy 1
Trichromatic Posted January 11, 2022 Author Posted January 11, 2022 Short by 130 runs in first inning of 3rd test.
