Jadeja didn't play at Sydney, India drew.

Jadeja didn't play at Brisbane, we won.

Jadeja didn't play at Centurion, we won.

Lost two matches when he was not there, doesn't mean the two things are interrelated.

I wonder who took 4-62 and restriced Aus to 330 from 200-2 :hmmm:

I am unable to understand how Maharj was turning the ball square while Mr Ashwin, Chahal and Jayant were bowling gun barrel straight.

they also turned the odd ball, but the batsmen didnt allow them to settle.

Our guys were terrified of even Markram

Maharaj is actually a very underrated test cricketer. It's not easy for a spinner to have a long and decent career in SA's conditions.  Can bat as well.

it is easy enough if you have a gun pace attack to support you (and pitches that support the attack). what happens in that case is that people perceive the spinner as a chance to release pressure and then fall to him. this is a recurring pattern with other sides too.

yes when these spinners are required to be main bowlers in SC,they fall woefully short. Moeen was similar.

Jadeja is needed for balance. One problem with him though is he can be contained with specific line of attack. So he more often than not will not produce gigantic overs like say a Dwayne Bravo produces.  Harshal Patel over was an exception.  It is very very hard to slot our players given their limitations.  This is why Chahar/Thakur are needed.

Play Jadeja at 6, Shardul at 7, Deepak at 8.

Solves the bowling woes with 6 genuine options.

Agreed. Play top 5 batsmen.

Then 6 jaddddu

7 thakura

8 chahar Singh

9 axar

10 prasidh

11 bumrah

Jadeja the bowler has horrible stats since last 2 years I guess..  Overrated in ODIs

Jadeja is not going to be  a game breaker in any department. Kuldeep and chahal bowled a lot of match winning spells in the middle overs during their time. Jadeja has been playing since 2009. I don't recall commies every uttering the sentence "Jadeja's bowling is the key here" in limited overs. He always played the supporting role, containing role.

I have my own doubts about today's youngsters getting a long rope like Dhoni gave to Jadeja. It is essential if you spot a talent and know that he is mouldable. But I doubt if captains like KL Rahul or for that matter anybody would do that.
