The importance of Sir Jadeja

This series should once and for all shut down the discussion of Ashwin vs Jadeja in SENA . Ashwin for his big mouth has once again shown he is just not good enough in these conditions and is ore of a diva who over estimates his skillset.

Jadeja didn't play at Brisbane, we won.

Jadeja didn't play at Centurion, we won.

 

Lost two matches when he was not there, doesn't mean the two things are interrelated.

I don’t think it would have mattered tbh. But yeah this would be the last match in Ashwin’s Sena career. But he is still crucial for our home series.

And kohli missing last match was stated as reason we lost. The player missing is always one who would have made a difference

Jadeja won us the most crucial match of WTC final vs NZ.   Did wonders with bat and ball in that defining test.    He would hv won us this series, for sure.  .       Fact is he is a certified choker. Like LOli.

Let's not turn into padosi fans now, they do this all the time as a coping mechanism. our core issues wouldn't have been solved by having Jadeja in the team here. 

Sharma and Gill were bigger misses imo.

Ashwin lack of bowling impact in this series vindicates TM's decision to go with Jadeja in the Eng series. Jadeja is a more consistent batsman, has better fitness and fielding standard. Plus he's a lefty. Also won't do worse than Ashwin with the ball.

The thread is like comparing Bumrah and Shami in Indian conditions when we have 3 spinners in the side. It just doesn’t matter.  If we lose in India we don’t blame the pace attack, but spinners are blamed for SENA loss.

Mayank Agarwal. Played some of the best under pressure knocks in IPL for Punjab.

 

Siraj has not shown the choking gene till now. Shami took 4 wickets in first innings in WTC final.

People said the same thing in the England series. When Jadeja didn't pick a wicket they felt Ashwin was hard done by for not being picked, especially at the Oval.

Without a doubt Ashwin is no use with the ball and will come off once in 10 innings with the bat. On top of that a liability in the field.. Jadeja anyday over him as a package in Sena

All a moot point now anyways because our next SENA test is in 2024 and Ashwin might well be retired by then

Anyways Choker-Clutch is an overrated concept in sports. You can put filters and make any player seem a choker or clutch. Even Rahane has more match winning test knocks in SENA than Tendulkar! 

 

Consistency is much more important. If you have a bunch of consistent players, some of them are bound to come good in big matches taking you over the line.

Not picking wickets is one thing but leaking runs is another. An average of 60 while picking up 3 wickets for the series and 89 runs at an avg of 14 with the bat. Its not just the continued non performance in SENA but the entitled interviews this guy gives and then tried to play the vicitim card too for Shastri saying Kuldeep was the no.1 spinner. Even washington  sunder would have done well compared to this HTB and ofcourse lets not forget his fielding which itself is an embarrassment.

Time to understand that these are rank turners specialists who will only do well in patches overseas esp. when the pace bowling has put pressure

Jadeja is no match-winner. He owes his selection to the three Stooges of our middle order.
