lasting long is no indicator of quality. go take a look at ishant's first 70 tests, or rahane's last 50 tests, just to name two. SRK probably won't play in first XI, he is there as a backup

no, they had powerful backers (MSD and Kohli, respectively)... and in ishant's case, he played because of lack of alternatives. longevity, class, and consistency are not one and the same.

he was backed coz he had quality and we also lacked options , he didnt get unfit much like other fast bowlers were .Quality was their , which is why his did well also for last 2-3 yrs before his fitness issues came back

I have to admit I feel the pressure for Kishan tonight.

 

Hitman will definitely anchor the innings and get his eye in, so dont expect him to accelerate early.

Hack of the highest order who is good only for IPL and if selectors continue picking these sort of players we are gonna tank again in the Wt20. 

 

There's a big difference in IPL and international cricket, Varun Chakra showed that, Venky Iyer and SRK are next in line.

from what I've seen, SRK's batting ability is about the same or higher than Yusuf Pathan, who played some key innings for Ind in both ODIs and T20s. however, it would have been better for SRK to be given chances at A team level, and then graduate to senior team

He is not as good as Yusuf Pathan

A player like Yusuf Pathan would be an automatic selection in every loi team in the world these days. 

 

Yusuf Pathan just played in the wrong era.
