Rahul is probably most mentally weak player I have seen in decades & someone who has all the talent makes it even weird. He is Umar Akmal in reality. Shreyas is like Shoaib Malik. He is the best you have got in the middle order after Pant and SKY, that is the reality, the earlier we accept the better it is. The positive with Shreyas is that he is still one of yours best bets especially when team is down 2 or 3 as it has been a case numerous times with team India in knockouts. Whether it was the game vs England in 2021 where Archer and Wood bowled out India at 130 in first inning, or the recent Windies ODI game. Or even the test match vs NZ, he is your best bet to recover from collapse. Even in IPL, the most important match DC played was 2020 final and in that Shreyas and Pant took them from 20/3 to 160. So, he is your best bet when team is in collapse and wayy better option than Samson and Kishan. Yes, he may bat scratchy so you will get a chance to single out that one bowl and create a thread on ICF and laugh about it but that doesn't take away the fact that he has been your best bet when team is generally in collapse situation.One delivery here and there where he does a break dance but manages to hang around doesn't take that away. Because his on the up stroke play is such a way that he is always one shot away from spooning one in the air. Second thing he is a huge front foot plonker like Uthappa. Although he displays some ability to hit on the up and connects reasonably well like Rohit sharma from time to time, his weakness is those same type of shots. Rohit, KL Rahul, Kohli (at their best when shown intent) could keep going while attacking. Cameos are good when you are a lower order batsman.
