The most "patriotic" umpire going around these days?

he is an out-and-out patriot who helps his team. reminds me of Pak umpires before neutral era

Saw him in australia series recently and he was giving all marginal calls in favor of srilanka and in last test he literally went into shakoor rana mode and gave his best performance for sri lanka in his international career (both as umpire and all rounder for SL).

I was quite pissed with him during world cup 2019.

The Sinhalese have great traditional names, 1000 years ago our ancestors would have had similar names until bintu, mintu, Bunty etc arrived.

Ind names are increasingly a travesty these days. I recall the time when many names derived from Hinduism or Ind leaders/achievers were used. now, I see either weird names or those trying to ape the West.

True, all these modern names don't even sound great anymore.

neither do they have gravitas/weight/meaning nor do they sound mellifluous.

With an awesome name like that most transgressions should be forgiven.

My favourite is dushmanta, sounds great and yet so classical all of these Sinhala names are Sanskrit driven, the Sinhala have their ancient origin somewhere between Bengal and Orissa, thou most are Buddhists but still worship certain Devi/Devta.

The only Indian cricketers currently with great names are bhuvi, jaddu, ajinkya, pujara and sky, we may soon have the likes of rinku, Ishan, Sanju, axar.
