adi B
Kudos to her and the Indian W team , did everything possible to win and found an alternative way .one thing for sure ,the women's team care about winning and losing as they play with passion for their national side unlike our men's team who giggle and chuckle after losing finals ! Also let's see if England use this viciously on us the next time we play ,if they do then they should give up their Rona Dhona, if they don't then good for us lol beetle 1 Link to comment

putrevus
The spirit of the games comes into picture only when England is the receiving team. Remember Grant Elliot vs Collingwood. Lord and beetle 1 1 Link to comment
Need4Speed
Our womens are saying they warned Dean and also informed Umpires before that run out. https://www.rediff.com/cricket/report/we-warned-her-multiple-times-deepti-on-controversial-run-out-deepti-sharma/20220926.htm Though English W are rejecting that: https://www.rediff.com/cricket/report/skipper-knight-says-indian-team-lying-over-warning-claims-england-vs-india-charlie-dean-run-out/20220926.htm Link to comment
beetle
Why is this even a thing? Why can't icc make a rule to prevent this. Everytime the non striker's bat leaves the crease before the ball is bowled...the run should be considered 'short' and not counted.Make it the third umpire's job . IndianRenegade
This whole spirit of game discussion is nonsense here. spirit of the game says to respect the laws, accept when things don't go your way, here it is used to justify the opposite. When the laws of the game clearly state this is legitimate way to get some one out, it is the responsibility of the batter to be prepared for it. To use the fact you weren't prepared to shame the better prepared person in the name of spirit of the game is actually against the spirit of the game. beetle 1 Link to comment
coffee_rules
Whatever argument it is, it looks bad after the last pair was putting up a fight with a partnership of 30-40 runs, you finish the game with this Link to comment

I don't think this would have been controversial if all these guys like Piers morgan and other ilks had shut their mouth. Apparently she was doing it for quiet a while. May be that is how this partnership was even developed. coffee_rules and beetle 2 Link to comment

Former English skipper is calling Deepti a liar. So they are trying to put India in a spot. They shouldn't budge. Few other screenshot shows she was doing the same in other overs as well. goose
Maybe Deepti saw Dean leaving the crease regularly and decided she would pick her moment to dismiss her. Had she warned Dean she would simply stop. Deepti's morality stems from noting the repeated breach and then making Dean pay later should it be required. Link to comment

putrevus
Stuart Broad passing judgement on this issue was hilarious and shameful at the same time. That said every team has skeletons in their closets. Sachin did not walk when whole world heard the nick in 2008 CB series and yet Indians were wanting bury Bucknor alive for Symonds month earlier.Indians did not withdraw appeal against Inzi's runout. This spirit of the game is a nonsense which every team tries to use it as an excuse for their loss.If England had won this would have been a non story. AuxiliA 1 Link to comment
