This kind of win does nothing for India in terms of WC preparations from a batting perspective.

 

I would have liked to have seen Pant promoted up the  order or at the very least the batsmen should have been attacking a lot more. They should have targeted to get to the score say by 13th over. They needed to create their own pressure while batting to prepare for the WC. Tuk tuk all the way to 107 is pointless. If its a WC game then its totally fine.

 

To casually stroll to 107 to win the game, is just a waste of time.

Batting wise, India achieved absolutely nothing last night.

 

It was a waste of time, in the WC you wont get easy run chases. They should have created pressure on themselves to prepare better for the WC.

 

Strolling in to the win is not great preparation.

 

Rahul might as well been playing Test cricket if he wants to get his hand eye coordination back.

 

India absolutely wasted a chance.

 

India should have promoted Pant, Karthik and Axar. Give these guys the chance to show they can chase down 107. Dont make them do this for the first time in a WC.

 

In the WC, India will lose early wickets and yet our batsmen wont have had the preparation needed.

The more I see Pak's bowling, the more I'm worried for Oct 23. They have defended 2 low scores in tight situations in fact 146 odd was the lowest total ever defended in Pak. Rizwan has stuck great form and everyone else chips in with few runs.

Being 11 off 26 balls and ending up with 51 off 56 balls just to "stay till the end" and "ensuring your team a win" in games like these (that too when chasing 106) is as useful as a popped balloon for you and your side. Its good that most Indian fans have started realizing this "anchoring" jumla. 

A batsman play according to the conditions and pitch demand and not according to what people on a cricket forum want.

And why it came to this level ? Are we not seeing a pattern from last few years ?
Bilaterals me they'll perform like champ, only to exit in first round of multi nation tournament like a third grade team.

We are performing like that kid who will top in the unit tests and pre-board exams, but gets second division in the Board.

KLR's approach was ridiculous. He was 14 off 31 at one point.. Even if it was a lively pitch this was disgusting batting and it wasn't as if he was middling all of it and just passing the initial phase. He was struggling. Pains me that this guy is going to be our next captain...
