That’s so true, Pandya is a much better bowler than Neesham, Stoinis etc it’s not even a contest. However as a hitter he is much below them. That’s why most of us had a problem with him taking up  slot without bowling last World Cup. Pandya is a mvp for our loi team of fully fit and a big liability if half-fit.

It would depend upon what and how you want your team to play. 
 

England would happily play a Moeen over Joe Root per what they want from a player including bowling (and other combinations)

 

Buddy, so don’t know why you would take a crow pie in supporting a talented youngster/new player, who has not even received enough chances? (Don’t go by emotions over a fluke knock played after 6 years. Remember Kohli was supported too as a youngster).

Different debate. Hooda was given chances and he didn’t grab them, so didn’t Pant or Shaw or Samson. We are writing off a legend too quickly, his T20 form was not in doubt for 6 years

A team has to move on esp. with multiple formats … Hooda or Sundar or whoever were hardly given a consistent run. Hooda scored a 100 in Ireland and 33 off 17 in the first T20 in Eng but was benched. 

 

It is not about writing any one off but having the courage to move on and field youngsters. Aus could play Green over Smith, who is a legend. Eng has picked Brooks over Joe Root. Finch is planning to move on too after this WC iirc. We still see these Rohit-Kohli in a T20 11

Root or Smith are not T20 Goats , esp Kohli. So, don't compare him with the likes of Root and Smith. They are red-ball or ODI specialists. Yes, even here there is a talk of Kohli/Rohit retiring in T20s after this WC.
