Guy's probably the best player of spin in Test cricket currently.. Also I would go with Siraj instead of Shami. Need to move on from the latter as well. Ideally I would have loved to give Prasidh ot Kuldeep a go here but Bumrah really needs some game time. Margin for error is too small. Also Sarfaraz deserves a shot for his domestic performances. Think Sundar the batsman has a higher ceiling than Gill in this format. SRT100 Posted October 29, 2022 Posted October 29, 2022 Hitman KL Gill Kohli/Sundar/Shaw Iyer Pant Jaddu Ashwin Axar Siraj Bumrah Its a formidable line up in subcontinental conditions. All 9 batsmen can score centuries in India. Jaddu, Ash and Axar is equivalent to two top order Aussie batsmen. Triple spin attack is deadly in Jaddu, Ash and Axar. I would consider another spin option instead of Axar. As I think Jaddu and Axar are very similar. Mind you against Australia, two spin options is plenty, but three is safe. Siraj and Bumrah would hardly have to bowl much. I hope we prepare pitches for the game to end in under 3 days. Absolutely love when we destroy teams like England,SA and Australia with slow,low turners.

Iyer is our best player against spin, he was brilliant against NZ and Lanka at home last season on challenging surfaces. Think he can finish Lyon's career this time. Tough to break into this middle order now but Sarfaraz should be in the squad. Our #3 is somewhat vacant, though knowing our TM they may back Pujara. How do you think Kohli will do? His game against spin has regressed and his test returns have been pretty lean since 2021. You reckon he can break the drought? Kuldeep Sen was bowling quick indippers punctuated by rising channel balls and bouncers in the Irani Cup and picked 8 wickets. Dismissed Pujara twice. Would be ideal if the ball starts reversing. Now he will be our best batsman in all three formats, yet again.

Will be nice if he can do that against Aussies who gave him hell in 2017. he has shown good signs against spin from Asia cup, hope we dont make dustbowls coz then a lot comes on luck too Aus will use pace as their main weapon in India , they have done well with pace in India . They will use reverse swing unlike NZ or ENG who dont have bowlers with speed to use it
