If India beats Bangles and Zim beats Holland, then Zim just has to beat India. I mean okay - their batting is bad but their bowling is not bad. They have some tall quick bowlers and Sikander Raza. I would give them a higher than 5 % chance to beat India.
Mariyam Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 We're playing BD and Zimbabwe next. They should be the ones worrying. And working out mathematical possibilities. Not us.

If India and Zim win their next match they will be on 6 and 5 pts.... then the next match between Ind/Zim is a decider with the winner ending on 8 (Ind) or 7 (Zim) and qualifying.

I know ... that was best scenario for each team In terms of games, BD too plays IND & PAK so that will cut into each others' points Edited October 30, 2022 by zen

They still won't drop him, so we just have to hope he will somehow get out of the funk he currently is in. Zim and BD are much easier opponents, hopefully he will rack up a big score against at-least one of them.
Norman Posted October 30, 2022 Author Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) https://predictor.cricketxi.com/t20-world-cup/ Some guy on reddit designed this predictor tool to see the win/lose equations and also the NRR scenarios. It's brilliant. Give it a try. Edited October 30, 2022 by Norman zen 1
zen Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Below would be an interesting scenario: SA loses to PAK, beats NED -> 7 points BD beats IND, loses to PAK -> 6 points IND loses to BD, beats ZIM -> 6 points PAK beats SA, beats BD -> 6 points ZIM beats NED, loses to IND -> 5 points 1st and the 5th team separated by just 2 points!

Lord Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Just now, zen said: It would be based on the winner you pick for individual games, no? If so, it is you who made those choices yes but it chooses Pak as finishing top 2 when SA has much better NRR (though it could change slightly) Better would be to include margins of victory zen 1

Norman Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 11 hours ago, Lord said: gets it wrong lol Lol what scenario did you give for South Africa to end up at 6 points. One loss and one NRR. It has a default NRR decrease/increase function, so that might be the reason.
Norman Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 10 hours ago, Lord said: Better would be to include margins of victory It is included lol. Click on the "more options" thing and you can feed things like who's batting first and by what margin a team wins.
SM2907 Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Is there a scenario in which both India and Pak qualify.
