When will India find a middle order pair as successful as Yuvi-Dhoni?

Yuvi and Dhoni were integral part of Indian team from mid-2000s and played pivotal role in helping India won many games with their batting, whether it was batting first or chasing.

Their ability to take on the bowling or chase down totals under pressure was amazing.

Its been over a decade but India have struggled with a middle order as good as those two. Those moments of Yuvi Dhoni finishing games are nostalgic for 90s kids and we wish we could go back to those golden days.

Who are the next batting pairs who can really replicate the same level of class with the bat and ability to win games by soaking under pressure like these two does? One I can think of from current England team is probably Buttler-Stokes pair.

Dinesh Karthik and Axar. Our answer :)   Dhoni was always considered one of the fastest runner between t he wickets. But Pant looked ridiculously unfit in the semi final. Pant for all his immense mental strength has a lot of improvement to make on fitness level. I am not sure what the role of SKY will be in one dayer. So far he is batting at 5. Will he adapt to dual role in ODI.

There already is , the question is when they will pick them up . Put Sanju Samson at 4 and Sarfraz at 5 , then Pandya at 6 , Gill and opening , off course Sky 3 , 7 Sundar , 8   Chahar , 9 Bishnoi , 10 Mohsin Khan , 11 Bumrah

Dhoni except in early days of career completely leeched off Yuvraj and Raina in gunning down the totals while chasing. Just saying.

Dhoni was still a valuable player who made sure there is no collapse from other end while Yuvraj or Raina do their thing and finishing things off once they are out after doing their jobs.

Finding someone like Dhoni will be difficult. No other batsman can do what Dhoni used to do because if he tries he will be blamed for many losses. Dhoni's PR and his andbhakts did a great job for Dhoni after 2013. Before that he was fine.

We need to find new Yuvraj or Raina.

Among the new players Shreyas is the only one who takes it deep. Gill/Samson are coming along. SKY should always be an enforcer. He shouldn't change his game just because it is one dayers. Pandya/Jadeja can also provide support.

I sense Pandya is making an effort to take it deep nowadays. He should be enforcer. We already have shortage of enforcers. Shreyas, Gill, Samson or XYZ, I don't think anyone can emulate Dhoni. Samson should be enforcer too. Gill will be opening so not into discussions.

Jadeja is the closest. But he only takes it deep. Doesn't finish like Dhoni. It has to be a combination of more than 2 players. We also had Raina. So it is much difficult to have that combo. All 3 are match winners in their own right. 2 of them bowled, one was a keeper. They fielded well as well. Over all they brought a lot to the table.

Yuvi plus Raina plus Dhoni

Exactly people forget how vital all 3 were for us also don't forget we also had luxury of zak bhajji irfan and agarkar who could hit when needed or stabalize innings and Sachin, yuvi, veeru and raina all could bowl as well

gangu could bowl as well, and offered seam, which differed from our usual spin options.

sacchu, sehwag, gangu, dravid, yuvi, dhongi, and raina --> 5 out of top 7 could bowl, 2 out of top 7 could keep
