Narayan Jagadeesan (FC avg - 39, List A avg -49).. Had a strong domestic season.

Should be picked as the second wicketkeeper in the squad along with KS Bharat

Life isn't "fair".  If Indian team's chances of winning a test match or a series are better with Kishan replacing Pant ahead of Bharath - even its a 65-35 sort of call, you make that call.

This isn't a line at the greasy punjabi buffet where next man up gets the chance for paneer makhni.  Selection to the Indian team needs to be clear-headed.

Of course, you do want a degree of fairness so that the fringe players feel that they can continue to invest their hard work in return of a shot - but ultimately its the strongest XI that gets picked.

Well technically we wish the strongest XI got picked.

Reality is that uncles and nepotism rule Indian Cricket selection.

Even tenda would destroy current batting unit at age 50

I would go with Kishan, his current form, the double century, could carry over well into the Test series

At the very least because its being played in India, ie subcontinental conditions which would suit his batting I would go for Kishan.

He is a makeshift keeper.

He is keeping for TN in the ongoing Ranji season and has kept quite a bit in the past as well.. I don't know how reliable as a keeper he is, but he has kept in quite a few matches in red ball
