coffee_rules Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 What is it he is putting on his spinning finger? Never ever seen this,” England great Michael Vaughan tweeted.
AuxiliA Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 It was a pain relief ointment. The sore losers in the Australian media spun it around.
speedracer Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 2 options for Oz now. Suck on something or Just quit and leave.
sandeep Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Doesn't look great - at a minimum, he should have known better than to hold the ball while applying it. Unnecessarily invited controversy. Let's be honest - if this was Scott Boland or Nathan Lyon doing it, the reaction on this forum would be very, very different. nevada, coffee_rules, SRT100 and 1 other 1 3

It is pain-relieving cream and is allowed by ICC. Yes, similar action by any bowler of opposition will cause a huge storm in India. https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/interesting-writes-tim-paine-as-footage-of-jadeja-appearing-to-rub-his-bowling-finger-does-rounds-on-social-media-8434753/lite/
Number Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Very silly of Jaddu to do that to be honest. He should know that these things raise suspicions. coffee_rules, SRT100 and rangeelaraja 1 1 1

Spinners don't really get anything out of it.
R!TTER Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 I'll post this again for the intentionally blind - NO EVIDENCE HE APPLIED ANY FOREIGN SUBSTANCE ON THE BALL DIRECTLY & AS THINGS STAND THIS IS PERFECTLY LEGAL https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/no-sweat-watch-joe-root-shines-ball-on-jack-leachs-head-8304103 raki05 and AuxiliA 2

It was a bad look relatively speaking but at least I couldn't see any difference in his bowling before or after that incident, don;t see how any cream/ointment/grippo or as thy neighbors have alleged even Tar would make to his bowling! Jadeja has been the most accurate spinner I've seen in my lifetime & this one made up controversy doesn't change that opinion raki05 and coffee_rules 2
Throwaib_Chuckter Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 (edited) At first glance its not a good look for Jaddu. Hand the ball back to the ump and then work on your finger, that is just the right thing to do. OTOH, as others have opined here, not much a spinner can get from an already roughed up old ball. Also how many overs did the quicks bowl and how many wickets did they get after this incident?? So, call me biased but I'll give Jaddu the benefit of doubt. And given that is summer in Oz have a beer and keep takin' the piss. Chuckte Raho TC Edited February 10, 2023 by Throwaib_Chuckter raki05 1

BTW Boland seems the perfect antithesis of what a usual hot-head quick bowler is. You can see that in his demeanor, even his celebrations seem muted. Chuckte Raho TC
Tillu Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 All the PP chewts were getting their knickers in a twist over this. All they need is a mere accusation to cry foul. Had there been similar rape allegations on Rohit or Kohli like Zimbabar they would be still taunting us over it. coffee_rules, nevada, sandeep and 1 other 4

What he should have done there, he should have given the ball to the umpire and stand in front of the umpire while he was putting it on his finger,” Clarke said on the Big Sports Breakfast. “I don’t look at that and think it’s a thing. “I just wish he didn’t have the ball in his hand. “If he chucks the ball to the umpire and does that I don’t think there’s any comment made about that. It’s just the perception. “I don’t think there’s anything to it. I could be 100 per cent wrong.” nevada, coffee_rules and raki05 3
kosingh Posted February 10, 2023 Posted February 10, 2023 Why is Siraj carrying pain ointment? Did Siraj just return from the dressing room?

That site and its "admins" spend more time creating threads and post about Indian cricket than their own. Because that sad lot actually depends on its meagre income. And let them 'cry' as much as they want - for such trolls, the standard response should be more trolling - guess what, BCCI and Indian cricket is "so powerful" that nothing will happen. Just like BCCI fixed the Hawkeye for that "World cup Legbefore for Sachin tendulkar" ;P

Just like BCCI fixed the Hawkeye for that "World cup Legbefore for Sachin tendulkar" ;P Cut padosis some slack, atleast with them it's political hatred. The Aussies crybabies on the other hand have acted as much bigger sooks over the past couple of days. Never seen so much fake propaganda spewed around in cricket. From 'pitch doctoring' to 'DRS rigging' to 'ball tampering', all in the space of 24 hours. I wonder what excuse they will come up today. sandeep 1
