Those numbers are a disgraceful indictment on the nepotism that exists in Indian Cricket.

 

Gill should have been made opener from the 1st Test, especially more so when you consider he scored 90+ the last time he played against Australia in a Test match.

India should plan overlapping Tests given they finish inside 3 days.

Most these matches are lasting 3 days max, probably 4 bowlers are enough, however Indore might be a flat pitch, it is a small ground also.

 

It is not clear whether KL or Gill will open in WTC Final, it is better to play them both and play 4 bowlers so both have some match practice, then make make the call in England for WTC Final.

I dont think red soil can be slow low turner as the red clay is more spongy. It ll be like wankhede where ball bounces but slow spin. Short leg comes into play a lot as well as silly point. Value for shots. Sweep a better option here in indore than delhi. Batting becomes ludicrously tougher day 4 day 5 as red soil dinsintegrates faster. If Starc plays and India bats first then basically game over even before first ball is bowled as Starcs footmarks will be utilised like crazy by ashwin..

They knew KLoL would suck and the fans would be asking for his head mid series. Gave time in between so that the anger cools down and they could sneak KL back in.

Actually they always try to start a test match on either a Thursday or a Friday, to get the whole weekend covered. 

 

But they can't have test matches for 4 weekends in a row so they skip a week in the middle to give players some rest.

That makes better sense. Besides rest, it will give players some quality time with their WAGs. Kela can finish his adhura honeymoon. Hope he gets a niggle and is asked to rest up
