Greatest match winner at home. Despite Ashwin having the skills set, Jadeja always turned out to be more valuable than Ashwin overseas.

Coz overseas spinners usually play a holding role and the runs you score become doubly important. Jadeja could play that holding role much better keeping it extremely tight and was a much better batter.

Not always though. Lyon has fantastic record in Eng, SA and NZ.

Jadeja should look to play 2 more years and end with 4000+ runs and 375 wickets.

Age should not decide anything. Contribution to the team should. Jadeja is extremely fit and his batting is valuable in tests. He is contributing with the bat, ball or both in most matches. I would say 70% of the matches he plays he has impact. He should play till he has impact.

Once he is not making Contribution for let's say 2 back to back series, he should think about retirement.

Last series Jadeja seemed sad that India lost at home. He did more than OK with the ball as joint highest wicket taker, but no match saving/winning innings with the bat (still scoring more than Rohit/Kohli).

This series in his first match, he helped save the test. Many have given up before his partnership with KL Rahul. This is what we need. He can play as long as he can do this and I won't care about his age.

Jadeja is 2 years younger than Ashwin, fitness wise probably 15 years younger. Should stay as long as he has motivation.

The way he puts price on his wicket and improved his test batting, looks like he still has hunger and motivation for test cricket.

All that doesn't matter. If we continue to lose series, he will soon be the scapegoat with Ashwin gone now.

Possible but will be harder to drop a person who is scoring runs. Easier to drop any bowler.

When you score more runs than top order bats, it's harder to drop you to maintain appearance of some Fairplay.

Jadeja the batter holds the key to his stay in Indian team as we do not have a settled no.6 and he can just slot in there. Plus Sundar is not himself settled as a bowler except few matches.

Jadeja will need to bat well every game, every series. Just see the match thread here, most didnt want him until he played the innings. This too will soon be forgotten.

Let's see.

I want him in the test team as he has been a top performer for last 5 years. For me, He makes the first 3 names in test team along with Bumrah and Pant. However if they do drop him , he still has achieved enough from his international career. How many players score 3000 runs and take 300 wickets and remain ICC top all rounders for so long. He has been Top 3 since 2017 which is incredible.

Also financially he is pretty well off not to worry.

Will be sad to see Ashwin and then Jadeja go. I liked what they did for India in tests without the fanfare of superstar batters.

Same bhai. Have enjoyed the last decade or so with Ash-Jaddu. Always backed them here. They will not be replaced so easily.
