sarcastic Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 (edited) No matter what happens in the future, Jadeja and Ashwin have written their names in golden letters in the history of Indian cricket. Kudos to both of them!!! I cannot still believe that world number 1 team, leading by nearly 60 runs with 9 wickets in hand will collapse to a paltry 113. Not much to say that it is all over for Australia in this test match. They could not have batted any worse as a commentator put it. Indian team is proving that the fortress Delhi is indeed unbreachable. Edited February 19, 2023 by sarcastic cricspirit, raki05, AuxiliA and 1 other 2 2

R!TTER Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 They pick more than 10 wickets per test, in the tests they've played together! Broaderson aren't a patch on them, they're better than McWarne or really any other bowling pair at home, but it's a shame we don't see them play together much away! That was a seriously missed opportunity by Brat, I've mentioned a few times we should play our best 4/5 bowlers away & at least from 2017-2021 they were consistently top 4 in all conditions! cricspirit and raki05 2
Majestic Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 What are their SENA bowling averages overseas? 38 or 40??
Gollum Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Jadeja is the GOAT tormentor of Aussies. Look at how brainlessly they played today, mentally they are already shot when they see Jaddu with the ball. express bowling, AuxiliA, Lord and 6 others 3 6

Most of the games we've played away, except in Oz, have been specially curated for seamers! We can be just as critical of them as we should but check the stats of opposition spinners as well, in most of the games we didn't even have a chance (with spin) because the games got over in 3 days with opposition pacers running through our top order. cricspirit and raki05 2

They are definitely among the top 3 spinners of this generation alongwith Nathan Lyon. That's not a debate. But are they Shane Warne or Glenn McGrath? That's debatable.

But are they Shane Warne or Glenn McGrath? That's debatable. There was a stat I saw on reddit, I think last night, in the past DRS era the home team have more lbw going their way than the opposition! This change is particularly stark post 2001/02 - post DRS, that timelines because around 2001/02 we started having two neutral umpires. If you saw my post in the other thread, about Harbhajan, I also posted highlights of the 2004 series loss - the neutral umpires were *ing incompetent & frankly plain biased against us. They used to get too influenced by appeals & McWarne also benefitted from their reputation. Which is not to say we got more howlers than anyone out there - but McWarne got more marginal (or howlers) in their favor than say other combinations pre DRS era. The home umpire/pre 2001/02 & post DRS stats are much closer in comparison. With DRS we probably win the 2008 SCG test, as Symonds was clearly out, & I can count many such instances where the so called neutral umpires screwed us over! As an addendum to that I'll also add that overall, including LO, they're the best bowling pair in the history of the game! Just for tests though Ashwin/Jadeja is a killer combo, especially in Asia.
sensible-indian Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Jaddu best AR of our generation. Both ATG ARs. Lord 1
zen Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Thanks to tailored conditions! These guys struggle to bowl even one memorable ball outside the tailored conditions! sensible-indian, Forever Indian, Lord and 1 other 2 2

zen Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 Most of the cricketing world play on non-turners so probably they don’t even care for such pitches, where they would only play a handful of tests every few years.

R!TTER Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 If you're looking at the overall package - bat+ball, I'll rate them over McWarne in tests! Without them we probably lose 10-12 of the last 15 series wins at home. Our batting has been seriously sh!t for a really long period of time.
raki05 Posted February 19, 2023 Posted February 19, 2023 BTW can some one post Budhara batting avg in eng, sa ,NZ and wi. Vilander, vijaydude, rangeelaraja and 2 others 5
