India entering its transition phase?

The Indian team may be entering its transition phase.

But the way some players are performing presently, one may be forgiven for thinking they are personally transitioning from He/ Him/ His to They/ Them / Theirs.

But hey, we’re all accepting and tolerant and liberal  here.

Circle of life. Every team will go through it sooner or later.

SL is still going through it. PAK is starting to stabalize with an OK/Good team. BD will soon enter it after their 4 retires. Eng went through it and are now are in a comandable position. Aus is still going through it. We were bound to go through it. However, due to sheer cricketing talent, I can see alot of replacement that can come and do a decent job (sure experience matters but form matters too).

aus is mostly done with transition, but the new round will start soon

Done how? They've yet to get rid of Warner/Khwaja & then Lyon/Haze are on their last legs with SS & Starc about to follow them maybe couple of years down the line! They will have at least 6 spots to fill in 2-4 years.

I meant that previous round of transitions was already done. much of this team has been playing for many years together. the next round will start once warner is booted, but that has not yet happened.

I expect India picking up losses at more frequency.

But the team management, selectors,coach are still indifferent.

Nothing can happen atleast for 2 years.

For crying out loud they're playing has beens Rohit and Kohli even in ODIs when someone like Jaiswal hasn't even made his debut in that format!

It's not shortage of replacements but BCCI and selectors not having balls to do the right thing and kick them out of the team. Jaiswal in place of Rohit and Rinku in place of Kohli, and we're all set in ODIs with Sai Sudarshan and Parag also in the fringes. Same can be done in Tests as well with Easwaran in place of Rohit and Rinku introduced in Tests as well - the guy averages 55 in FC and has the attitude to fight adversity. We need to back such players

We have reached a point where wholesale change is warranted.  We have crossed the phase of gradual transition. that should have happened like 2  or 3 years back. Now it is too late for gradual transition.

And we had the chances to do so. End of WT20 should've been the time to phase the seniors from both T20 and ODI teams. And Eng series should've been the time to bring in Jurel, Sarfaraz and others in place of Kohli and KL Rahul. But here we are :dontknow:

This series result more or less has confirmed it

And replacement of Rahane and Pujara yet to establish themselves.

To be honest, I would not put our test match winners Ashwin and Jadeja in the same bracket as Rohit and Virat just based on age. Yes Ash/Jadeja get some bad games but they have performed very well irrespective of their age.

Age is a factor but is not the deciding factor if the player is performing. We do not drop a fit player who performs just cause he has hit some age limit.

They all need to go as their time is coming up but Can I wait for Ashwin Jadeja to phase out slowly.. Yes.

But I need Rohit and Kohli gone.. Yesterday.

Agree. Good next step would be to list out the next in line players and try them out more often in Internationals. Most of them are in the loop of India A circuit for long.

Rohit, Kohli -> Easwaran, Sarfaraz, Indrajit, Sai Sudarshan

Ashwin -> Washington

Jadeja -> Sai Kishore

Saikishore's bowling is iffy.. Would take Axar over him for now and wait for Manav Suthar to develop

Correct. Axar too. I haven't watched much of Manav Suthar

Axar patel bowling has regressed badly. He is much closer to a part timer these days. Batting has improved though. You need someone who can bowl slow with guile. Axar is definitely not the one.

The title reads like its off an astrology page.

Half expected to read India's Jupiter has moved from the 3rd house to the 8th. Rahu and Ketu, Shani ka Prakop etc.
