Based on what? That crap pitch which resulted in the shortest test in 100+ years? Or based on the fact that he's been even more crap on 3 similar tough pitches this series

... I have Kishan at 4 to create a L/R combo as early as possible.

1. Yes that crap pitch where pink ball played a major role than the pitch did.

 

2. Axar is doing well as batsman and in Indian conditions, he is actually good with bowl.2-3 average games shouldn't be considered a parameter.

He was under bowled in all three matches. Kuldeep will meet the same fate as long as Ash-Jaddi is there. His figures don't mean anything when is getting to bowl only occasionally.

This is important - with 3 spinners one will get underbowled. With 4 it will be worse.

 

BTW Aus did the same this match(slightly) - Kuhneman in I2 was overbowled and Murphy was underbowled while Lyon was doing his 8fer. Kuhneman gave up 60 in his 16 while Murphy gave up just 18 in his 14. Aus posters on their message board were talking about this.

However NZ have a tendency lately to screw things up for us. Hopefully they don't lose 2-0 but I would not put it past them to "nicely and politely" stick it to us in true NZ fashion. 

 

Bangles winning there makes me even more nervous. A couple of bad matches by Kane, Hasaranga on song and you never know......

drop asswin, and play kuldeep. asswinder is not that good a bowler as kuldeep and not as good a batter as jaddu or axar

this pitch will require 3 bowlers, at most 4. having 6 is far too many. Asswin should be dropped. ditto for siraj. he may "trouble" aus batters, but he never quite takes wickets like shami, bumrah, umesh, etc at home. so, I would say asswinder and siraj should be dropped and we should play 2 others batters

which other two batters? Sundar is not in the squad and others are poor. Ashwin's batting itself was useful in 2nd Test

There's no way we can go in - or will go in - with only 4 bowlers into a test match only on the off chance that the game will be over in 3 days. Even then it may not be ideal.

This line up will worry Australia, it bats very very deep and it has Kuldeep that they have not faced.

 

Its a monumental mistake if Kuldeep does not play, especially if its because of a pace bowler.

Axar has been underbowled because he has been rather ineffective.

 

That wont be the case with Kuldeep, he will trouble he Aussies.

Those cricket forums are mostly AFL and rugby supporters, there really isnt a passionate cricket forum for the Aussies.

Locally all the news in Australia is that they picked the wrong sides for the first two tests, had they got this right, they believe they would have won the series. I believe this.

 

India got very lucky that our spinners batted like batsmen in the first two tests.

I wonder if Kohli's mental health issues was raised as a cover to drop him, as opposed to dropping him on form. Thereby protecting the commercial brand of Kohli.

 

While SKY has not done anything in ODI or Tests, I have more faith in him than Kohli.

As the series wore on Australia proved to be a better batting line up than India even in these conditions. They have Head/Smith/Khawaja/Labu/Green/Handscomb. Pretty long batting line up. Most of them were inform when they came here. Conditions did them in. Now they have settled down.

1st Test was like a practice game for them, still had chances to win.

 

2nd Test they were in the box seat again to win, but again due to our bowlers batting well.

 

3td Test, they nailed us.
