Vickydev
This is a massive disaster. The pictures in the daytime look horrific. RIP to the victims, that's a huge loss of life
Tillu
So it means failure of the indigenously developed Train collision avoidance system KAVACH.

Tillu
So the system was designed to prevent only head on collisions. Why didn't they take train derailments into consideration when they are such a frequent occurrence. Why are our quality requirements so weak. Even last year we lost so many live due the bridge collapse in Gujarat. Why do we have to sacrifice so many lives before we correct the mistakes. Where is the foresight to prevent these mishaps. Lone Wolf
For those saying don't ask for resignation, An inquiry cannot be unbiased if the same minister and officers are in charge. They can be grilled only when they are not entitled to any protocols. So yeah they are responsible & there has to be a accountability as well. Will it solve outdated and rusty tracks which railways have not replaced, what was so called modern saftey system Kavach doing? Doubt anti-collision system could have done much. One train collided with the parked goods train on the same line, which was not supposed to be and can be avoided by a system like Kavach. The derailed bogies were then hit by a speeding SF train from the opposite direction. This could not have been prevented by Kavach

randomGuy
I was thinking of a parallel to compare...let us say in aviation, the air traffic controller software/machine is working fine, but the air traffic controller personnel make the aircrafts crash/collide due to negligence/mal-intent.... should the aviation minister resign in this case?
