No e-tickets for 2023 ODI World Cup, 7 to 8 centers for physical tickets redemption: BCCI secretary Jay Shah

World's richest board my ass.

@Lone Wolf this useless nepo product Jay Shah deserves a boot up his pichwada.

I still dont know a digital innovator like India cannot facilitate a simple eticket system for cricket matches.. unless there are weird reservations for BCCI which i fail to understand..

I know we are Indians and love to support our team but I can clearly understand why outsiders hate BCCI. Absolute clown of a cricket board with zero professionalism. They are rich simply bcoz India is a one sport country but money can't bring class. Will Jay Shah compensate all the people who bought plane tickets and booked hotels etc.?

I wanna feel that 2011 vibe again. A world cup being hosted in India. The noise was of insane levels.

The silence before a wicket of a set batsmen of the opposition when India would be bowling. And then the way the crowd erupts. Harbhajan Singh's wicket of Umar Akmal comes to mind or when Zaheer Khan got the 1st wicket in the semi final.

But the way it's going, BCCI keep ruining it. Or maybe wanna ruin the opportunity altogether. Taking so long to announce the fixtures and even then they need changing. You'd think they'd have sorted this a year ago.

No e tickets eh? So basically people will be turning up in thousands to buy tickets and imagine how many will come for Pak match........laaththi charge incoming

Cricket World Cup 2023: India-Pak match in Ahmedabad not the only one with a date change

BCCI secretary Jay Shah says 'two or three member boards' have asked for tweaking the schedule

“Two or three member boards have requested for a tweaking of the schedule, and it’s their right. We are working on it with the ICC. The venues will not change, as it will give rise to several logistical challenges. What we are looking at is that if a team has six days between matches, we reduce it to five, and if a team has two days between games, we make it three. Teams should get adequate time to travel, rest and train between matches at a World Cup,” Shah told reporters on Thursday.

But he said the final picture will be clear in a few days. “In India, minor changes keep taking place as we go along.”

With a little more than two months left for the World Cup to begin, tickets have not yet been put on sale. But Shah said that will happen soon.

Shah said carrying physical tickets would be compulsory.

“We are not having e-tickets this time. But we will arrange for the physical tickets to be ready at seven or eight spots from a week before the game. It will be difficult to have e-tickets at big venues such as Ahmedabad or Lucknow. We will trial it in bilateral series before introducing it in big tournaments.”

What a circus:facepalm:

Can Indian fans ever expect a pleasant stadium experience?

The requirement for physical tickets means an inevitable stampede when counters are opened, as there was before the India and Australia T20I in Mohali last year

They treat Indian cricket fans with utmost contempt, no other board goes to such an extent to spite its fans. Not even talking about corruption, nepotism/favoritism, all round stupidity, greed, arrogance etc.

I have said multiple times that BCCI priority is TV revenue. Thats why they dont care two hoots about fans in stadiums- the revenue from stadiums is chillar change for them. Thats why you wont see large group of fans from Aus and Eng coming to WC in India as even they know they will be treated like dirt.

His tenure Should be long over now...  But we all know how he is still clinging onto his post:hysterical:

How did he get the post in the first place? What are his credentials other than being Amit Shah's son?

Theres reports now that the India Pak clash in Ahmedabad could be changed due to not enough security available due to 1st day of Navratri..

are you fking kidding me

This is why India should never host tournaments

They should just swap the India vs PAK match with the India vs AUS match. Have it on Oct 8 in Chennai

do you know disorganised this is? Thousands of fans have made travel plans to Ahmedabad for the Pak game- will BCCI reimburse them for flights and hotels costs?

This should have been the plan right from the beginning. It is better to have Pak play in South India than in Ahd, Mumbai or Kolkata. Chennai or Bangalore would have been ideal.

Wonder why BCCI have no foresight. They should have planned differently right from the beginning. As if they didn't know about the Navratri overlap earlier.

That said making any changes at this stage is stupid because of travel itinerary changes.

I want to ask. Will fans be able to book tickets online or not ? Will tickets be available to book online or tickets will be available only at the counters ? What is eticket redemption for which 7-8 centers are available ?

There are no e-tickets.

Perhaps even at the counter, you need to give actual cash instead of UPI or something :giggle:
