Why are there no close matches this World Cup?

I get your point.   Unfortunately, in this WC , even the upsets hv been one sided.   LOL.  It usually does not happen that a minnow beats a top ranked team by such huge margin.

which game apart from the final was nail bitter in 2019? ind vs nz, was kind of done & dusted very early, it was just a matter of getting one of Jadeja or dhoni.

This is ODI WC, not T20.   ODI WCs, especially in Round1 are not known to produce many nail biting games.  Same was the case throughout the 2019WC (except the Final).   

The Ind vs Nz game last Sunday was a close one (though not nail biting)

This duffer Aatif Nawaz isn't considering the fact that if SL eliminated England today then they have improved their own chances of a Semi Final qualification. We aren't getting full idea of who the semi finalists will be till the Sri Lanka NZ match now, which will be the 41st match of the 45 match first round.

 

These " we already know the Semi Finalists before 19 or 25 or 50 matches ' type of comments are usually  made to discredit the tournament.

Had AfG not lost it's 1st match vs BD, it too would have had a decent chance of making the semis.

Yes, 25 matches so far with no close finish.

 

But there were 4 upsets and few tense matches. But generally, its a one sided WC at the moment.

 

Hope the last 20 matches will bring in few thrillers.

Obviously because now everyone wants to give their best and win. We are at the business end. Doesn't matter if target is 350+ or 200-, opposition will fight our unless the conditions completely change in the second inning.

Also teams are most used to conditions and know each other's strengths.

 

That's why didn't get the rr about no close games in start.

This has been a very good WC, probably there never been a WC before when there was no team without a win. In this WC , even the lowest rank teams were able to win some matches. There should not be more than 10 teams in any cricket WC 50 overs or T20.
