Another way to think in a positive sense.

 

Pandya absence let Shami in and Thakur out. That helped us beat both NZ and ENG. So, if Pandya is not there we can still win as long as we play our best and have confidence.

 

Overall Pandya has done nothing this tournament. It will be good to have him back only if he is fully fit to bowl 5 or more overs. I said this before the world cup too. If he cant bowl, we dont need him as much as he does not inspire much confidence just with the bat. Will take both SKY and Kishan before him.

Naah, he has been decent with ball (better than Siraj) and broken partnerships.

 

Batting not yet required but would have come in handy today.

 

Obviously only back as an all rounder.

Agree he did decent with ball but we have won without anything substantial from him as an all rounder. So, not like we cant do without him.  When he is not an all rounder and not bowling then he does not add balance and does not walk in just for batting.  

 

Plus his fielding and batting will be affected if he is not fit and cant move well. 

 

If fully FIT, he walks in or else should stay out to recover.

Yeah fully fit ofc.

 

Just because we are doing well w/o him doesn't mean we shouldn't have him. Provides immense balance. Never know when a match can be tough.

yeah siraj is the worst with the bat and not bowling well.

 

so easy swap for hardik and kick out iyer for ashwin.

Hope Pandya gets to play against SA:

 

1. He is getting back from an injury so he needs some game time before KOs

2. if I am not wrong he hasn't had to hold his bat in this WC, thats a long time for a batter to be not in touch. if comes off like KL did back from injury its great, but I am feeling nervous as to to his form if he is directly going to bat in a KO.

I doubt he will be back before semis. In semis he will replace Iyer as batsman but won’t bowl at all.
