The lack of economic prosperity here is due to the extreme diversity. A diverse society spends it's time in bickering for so called "fair" distribution of resources. Not at wealth creation. 

 

And India is overpopulated as hell anyway. Let some people get out.

 

And i disagree with OP. We are only great in size. In all other aspects we are NOT great.

Let's have some stats. The erosion of free speech and state power is nonsense. We have serial anti-govt spouters like Prakash Raj, Rana Ayub, Arfi, etc., who are still alive and thriving in their bull. There are a laundry list of propoganda channels like the Liar, etc which despite being caught for fake news are still up and running. This govt is like a helpless toddler in front of these folks. If this was the Congress govt (even in a coalition) these kinds of folks would have wound up dead or hushed up in some way already. 

 

Communal and hate crimes have always been there. In fact, we've had pogroms that have been hushed up, so again, nonsense.

 

Wealth disparity, inflation (which we have one of the lowest), etc. is a reality of the world. Which country doesn't suffer this? Can you count the number of journalists arrested in India. Go look at the index. India is slipping in free speech.

It's not a question of whether you personally accept this as true or not; what holds significance is what the majority of people believe, as demonstrated in the recent assembly elections in Karnataka.

Immigration is a personal decision and governments can't do much about it, other than running information campaigns about the perils of illegal migration. Maybe rope in Akshay Kumar to do an infomercial aired before the movie begins in the theatre? IMO, the immigrants do it with the hope of providing a better life to their kids. They know their life is gone but they want their kids to have a better start in life.  If born in the US, the kids automatically get citizenship. To them, a few months of hardship to reach the US followed by 15-20 years of living in the shadows seems like a better deal than toiling lifelong in India without much reward. 

That being said, even people of limited means such as drivers, cooks, carpenters  etc are getting their kids well educated in India these days and quite a few of them have secured good jobs, lifting up the economic status of their families. With a population as huge as India's, there will always be a big chunk of people looking for shortcuts to migrate abroad. 25 years ago, some people traveled to France on the pretext of watching the soccer world cup and disappeared into the shadows upon arrival to take advantage of the immigration rule which grants then permanent residence after 5 years of legal or illegal stay in France. So this is not a new problem and won't go away anytime soon.

No it isn't. This is now going to be the new way. Few factors.

 

1) Apart from US, almost all of west is on a secular decline and it is irreversible. Simply because these things go in cycles. Demography and social structure has saturated and radical policy changes required cannot be done. So, it descending civilization and India is ascending. Along with many countries south east asia. The cycle would continue for atleast 25 years.

 

2) As Oscar Schindler mentioned, "War" is a factors for his business to be successful. India find itself in an interesting position when it comes to the next cold war with China. If India navigates this, there will re-allignment of the next age economy around India. West benefitted from low cost labour and they will change to India and other south east asian countries to maintain the bottom line.

 

3) Comes to PPP and opportunities. At this point the trade off is reduced to intangibles such as clean air, infrastructure etc etc. As long as the PPP holds for another 15 years, for many Indians abroad the question will boil down to intangibles.

I ran a search on illegal immgration from india on google and shared the link in this thread. Top 5 articles from established sources i detailed in posts. All of them had examples from Gujarat. I cant help it if you feel ashamed and offended by this. If you really feel about it try to be objective about it. Nothing much to discuss anymore. You tried to abuse, discredit attack the poster than the subject etc. You are a very poor poster biased and you have allodoxaphobia and i dont run a shrinks office. Please go treat yourself elsewhere.

With the cost of living crisis i expect reverse immigration back to india will start and pickup in about 10 years time. If secular pluralistic tolerant society reestablishes itself.
