India-NZ semi-final switched from fresh pitch to used surface

Recommended Posts

Our libturds joining in Pakistani media and calling out BCCI on pitch controversy. She has no idea of cricket, but opens her mouth for such an inane opinion

In hindsight, A fresh pitch would have meant NZ getting out faster :phehe:. Pitch was probably changed to make the game more competitive to last the distance. :--D

Ball was not doing much today compared to other days. We had a very fair game in which tons of runs were scored.

it was done to favor NZ. just like umpiring

Ind has so many venues and so many pitches to host the matches, so what happens when a ground has only 1 pitch.

No reasons have been provided why the pitch was switched, or if it was a switch at all. Who was to decide which pitch to use.

If its up-to local Admins and facility owners then why the fuss .. Who decided that the fresh/new pitch was going to be used for SF.

Was there any prior understanding to this, or just an assumption from ICC pitch supervisor?

What if WC was to be played at 5 or venues only with no facility of more than 1 pitch?

Exactly. All the matches favored the team batting first . This shaving off grass helped team chasing and took the toss out of the equation. It was a true ODI pitch. ICC decides the pitch along with BCCI curators. Ronewale rote rahein!

I want a new pitch for the finals. It is our bowlers who have been dominant in this WC and the Mumbai pitch gave them nothing..A new pitch even if its slow will give better grip and help all our bowlers.

True, our fast  bowlers were neutralized here , but Shami and his ATGness could still get something off this pitch.

Quite contrary to regular Baki shows, huge respect for Wasim Alram and this show for putting Baki trolls like  @Lala_is_back , to place suno , samjho aur seekho

The key thing to note is that Malik even mentioned it in the pre match when this controversy first came up.

He said the live grass made batting hard at night as the ball was zipping off the deck and that's why the grass was shaved off.

And Misbah can be seen acknowledging Malik's pre match  comments in the post match

It's surprising that nobody has pointed out that while ICT mgmt. acted out of self interest it actually resulted in a fairer pitch.

Also I'm not sure why nobody questions ICC consultant 's role in previous ICC events.

We had a blatantly biased 2019 SF pitch between OZ and England which favoured the chasing side,  an entire World T20 in Dubai which was heavily chase-biased all the way through .

India got an Adelaide track in last year SF that became ridiculously easy to bat in under lights

Was Atkinson sleeping all that while?
