Is Bumrah mentally tough to perform at big stages?

Contrary to what people say, Bumrah still took 2 early wickets in the 2023 WC.

Came through in the t20wc as well.

Gotta give it to the other pacers as well in his final Arshdeep and the lucky mascot, Pandya, the partnership breaker.

It's a big jigsaw puzzle, all pieces have to fit for the team to win world cups

They only have longevity going for him.

Kapil was great in WC/ODI so not true for him. Ashwin's actually had a great WC career as well, although he's played much less games.

Hell no. Ashwin is excellent T20 spinner. ODI, just average but not poor.

He used to be. Was terrible in 2022 and didn't even make team now. Same in ODIs after 2017

Current conditions are way tougher for pacers. Kapil was a lone warrior so that goes in his favour too.

But surely just on skills, he wasnt better than Bumrah

He was our best bowler and he also needed this world cup for his legacy. He is just too good a bowler to keep failing in big stages.

I am glad for him.

he needs one or 2 wtc final wins or a series win in eng and sa.

and one more maybe champions trophy or odi wc then yes he could be the best ever.

if pandya, jaiswal and rinku etc played we would have won 2023 on that shitty pitch too.

It's Ashwin/Kapil for now. If he does well in Oz this year & probably lasts till 2027 WC then he could overtake them.

Kapil yes, but even the great Kapil Dev as a bowler started to decline after 7 years of cricket.

Bumrah is playing for 8 years, he still have 2-3 years in his tank. And he is improving year after year.

Like SRT, although I haven't watched him play, I have a slight soft spot for Kapil as well because he played for such a poor team & bowled tirelessly on our BS wickets for 16+ years as a pacer!

kapil had no support. put him next to bumrah or even srinath. both would average under 26 25

He is our best fast bowler. Kapil is not even in the same ball park as Bumrah as a fast bowler.

kapil had no support though. neither did sri but yes bumrah is the best ever asian bowler.

It does not matter, the class difference as a bowler is evident.

Kapil is the greatest cricketer from India, no one comes close to him.

As I said he used to be. Last played WC in 2015 except that one game in 2023 where he was 3rd best spinner

His last WC game was Oz 2023 opener :bebored:

He was also the best spinner vs Oz in SF of 2015, better than Jadeja.

I mentioned that game, was 3rd best spinner on that Chennai wicket.

Was good till 2015-2016 but decline badly thereafter. No way competes with Bumrah as our best ever bowler.
