How is India still producing cricketers like Arshdeep Singh?

Are they all-rounders or bowlers who can bat a bit or batsmen who are part timers.

Abhishek is a batting allrounder, Tilak & Venky are borderline...Jaiswal is a part timer coz he has stopped bowling...

Rana, Hangargerkar, Yudhvir & Gurnoor all are proper bowlers who can bat & hit big sixes...Rahul Chahar has also improved his batting a lot now..he is also a borderline bowling allrounder.

It's important that they keep on practicing on their skills though, Agarkar when arrived in the scene was a much capable batter than when he retired.

Don't want to burden them too much,I would first sort out the 5 batsmen and 4 bowlers , because they have to be the core of the team, and then improve their out cricket but the difficult part is to find the no 8 and 9.

The all rounder if found can then fit in.

IMO...those have skills shouldn't stop working on it. If the burden is too much then we can stop trying to find out all format players and instead use them for one or two formats at max. Brett Lee & Mitch Johnson bowled fast at 145k, but never let their batting skill drop down.

Key here is the rotation, no point having the 300, 400 or 500 wicket taking bowlers if we can't dominate the game.

Pitches have to change .Lower order batting is needed in those conditions, our conditions are different.

See we need bowlers at 8 9 10 to be able to strike it big and average 10 to 15 with the bat

This is what the likes of starc and Cummins do. High end bowlers who can hold a bat. In the wc we had shami bumrah and kuldeep who were not better batters than starc and Cummins.

Its upto the coaching stff to bring the 8 9 10 to a levels were they can chip in with 10 to 15 runs on a regular basis when called on

We need somebody like travis head who can bowl 2 to 6 overs depending on the deck.

In total there need to be 6 to 7 joeling options.

With the t20 wc coming up what we need

A number 8-9 who is a frontline bowler who can strike it big atleast a few times against good death over bowlers.

A batsman who can bowl 2 overs for under 16 runs in most conditions.

Even pakistan have Shaheen shah afridi in t20 who can amoke it. Arshdeep mukesh etc simply cant do that.

Everyone knows what we need. We dont have options as important suff is done by foreigners in IPL

Arshdeep is there to fulfill the wides quota.   Trundler Boobie used to bowl 3-4 wides per over at the death.   In his absence, Arshdeep has been entrusted with that duty.    (Boobie was atleast a better fielder than Arshdeep).  Arshdeep should be picked only if he improves his other skills like fielding and batting (like starc, cummins, shaheen do)

These guys should be given special training for T20

Mohsin is looking like those fat neighborhood uncles that I meet / see every day.

Hangargekar is out of form in the last few months  Bowling very poorly.

Arshdeep bowls 3 balls at 140 kph and then bowls a full, wide outswinger at 127 kph that Smith lofts through the on side.

Indian LOI seamers are all sprayguns .  Simply can't hold that shorter than 6m length or keep it within 6th stump .

140kph deliveries take a lot from his body, that's not his natural pace, hence he gets tired and bowl a juicy trundling bowl to get some breath back.

Not just him, its general observation with Sub 140 kmph bowlers, they come to Intnls. tries to bowl bit faster than their natural pace.

They may look good in few seasons and once they get injured or lose intensity they start looking like club level.

In T20s donot mind what speeds the bowler is bowling till they have vast variations and able to hit few 6/4 down the order.

IPL every season comes up with some weird stat - Most yorker, least boundary in such to such overs without factoring in other components, and then these kind of players make it to the intnl team.

If there is a specialist t20 bowler they must be able to bat or have impact like Malinga

Yeah. It was a problem with Bhuvaneshwar as well.

Would go flat out for 90 mph when his body could not sustain that.

They need to find the speed range for their stock deliveries which they can bowl sustainably and focus on accuracy .

It's why I appreciate Mukesh Kumar a lot. Seems to know what speeds he can operate at and sticks to landing the ball consistently at those speeds.

The need for batting depth in t20s is much lesser than it is in ODIs.
