How is India still producing cricketers like Arshdeep Singh?

On these t20 pitches most will look ordinary. Look at Aus. Stoinis was bowling with the nee ball  because they were scared their main bowlers will go for even more runs.

In the 90's many bowlers could bat a bit.

 

Srinath, Kumble, Agarkar, Harbhajan , Sunil Joshi, Chetan Sharma type could bat..

 

Players like Debasis Mohanty, Raju and Prasad existed but we never had 4 no.11 walking around even in the 90's

It is because they are getting huge money from IPL so early in their career that they have no hunger left. Even, otherwise India have rich history of bowlers who would look good initially but became Crap after 1-2 years of international cricket. Like RP singh, munaf Patel, Irfan pathan.

just put bumrah and one more bowler maybe kuldeep. rest fill with allrounders.

 

eng in 2022, wi in 2012 and 2016 all won with allrounders spamming - even aus to an extent.

Most of our young fast bowlers are like that

Khaleel

Avesh

Mukesh

Prasidh

Natarajan

Mohsin

 

They are all dud with bat & mediocre on the field..just don't have the athleticism. No wonder Umesh has been our best fielder across the fast bowlers after Ajit Agarkar.

 

From newer bunch Hangargekar, Nagarkoti & Shivam Mavi are electric on the field and are athletic.

Tyagi, Harshit, Deepak Chahar, Mayank, Umran etc are Shami/Bumrah level on the field..

My guess - in his particular case - is that left-arm pacers are at a premium in India. And in LOIs, esp T20s, it is almost imperative that you have one.

very few indian pacers are good fielders,i can only think of kapil,agarkar,umesh,mohit,pandya,mavi.

 

 

Umesh was a poor catcher but good outfielder.
