He must play 4 day A-team games and actual test matches. Play some Ranji matches, playing one snd skipping the next and so on. When does FC begin for India domestic season. I would have him bowl 15 overs in day in NCA and get him ready for Australia. Edited April 2, 2024 by putrevus

More impressive is the fact that Mayank has the ability to bowl 152 k to 156 k balls at will. The other quickest pacers now are more 150 k+ pacers with maybe one or two deliveries at 154 k+ in a tournament / series .. but Mayank is a true 155 k+ pacers. And he is easily the most accurate express pacer. raki05, Cricket_Hacker, rollingstoned and 1 other 1 3

It would an ideal opportunity to get him used to the rigours of red ball cricket, as the primary bowling responsibility would lie with 3 spinners and Bumrah. He can bowl maybe 12 overs a day to start with. Four short spells of 3 overs. Ideal for a rookie express pacer. singhvivek141, Mosher and raki05 1 2

Must play 2 tests out of 5 vs BD NZ. A first class game in Australia for India A before test series... He will have enough muscle memory to work with by then. Of course he should play ODIs in SL and T20 WC before. express bowling, Mosher and raki05 3

gakgupta Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Usually Indian selectors shy away from selecting new talent... but Ajit doesn't seem like others... he did fabulous by selecting dhruv jurel and sarfaraz... He might surprise us by selecting this kid... But before that mayank has to consistently perform in this whole tournament... Cricket_Hacker, tapandrun and raki05 3
putrevus Posted April 2, 2024 Posted April 2, 2024 Ishant made his debut at test debut at 17, RP singh and Sreesanth made their debut very early in their careers.Fast bowlers don't need the grind of first class cricket. They just need their bodies to be in shape to bowl 15 to 20 overs in a day. FC cricket will hurt more than it helps fast bowlers.

We do not have those kind of genetics but Indians are improving. The new generation has better diet, training and fitness. We had enough tall people before and many strongmen as well but to be purpose fit for something like fast bowling did not happen. Kapil had great fitness but was not express and not as many talents were coming along before 2000. What times now express bowling and rollingstoned 2

If he gets hit one match they might tell him to bowl slow and concentrate line and length.
MK55 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I think only a retarded clown won’t have him in the t20 World Cup squad. If he’s not selected, it will be a massive blunder. I mean who else are the contenders after Bumrah? Avesh Siraj Arshdeep?? Are u f kidding me? It’s a no brainer. JaFanatic, Lone Wolf, raki05 and 1 other 1 3
MK55 Posted April 3, 2024 Posted April 3, 2024 I’ll take him to Australia too but I’m not sure if his body can handle long test match spells at this point. I’m hearing that he only played one first class match? Last thing we want is a long injury layoff. But I’ll still get him ready for tests and pretty soon too. For limited overs, he should be the top 3 players in the squad. raki05 1
