EnterTheVoid Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Back home after 3 weeks in Turkey. The war broke out whilst I was there, got out before it escalated into a region wide conflict. Totally worth a visit. Real value for money. - Istanbul; world class city that has seen the rise and fall of many empires. Incredible diversity in the architecture, culture, food etc. - Goreme/Cappadocia; unreal natural landscapes. One of the best places in the world to go hot air ballooning. I counted no less than 100 hot air balloons in the sky at one point. - Konya; cool city, worth checking out Rumi's mausoleum. Whirling dervishes are a highlight. - Antalya/Fethiye/Oludeniz/Izmir; sample the Mediterranean coastal lifestyle. The paragliding in Oludeniz is absolutely world class. - Ephesus; the remnants of an ancient civilisation. Only 20% has been excavated so far, the remaining 80% is still underground - Pamukkale; the mineral rich thermal pools are even more amazing in real life. diga, BacktoCricaddict, Tillu and 1 other 1 3
